Thanks should really go to the forum members who send me goodies like these, especially Howard - and some who are too shy to be named. They go to the trouble of posting them off to me to share with you.

And Puck, I was going to change the banner several times over Xmas with some of the others you sent but I like this one so much that I can't bring myself to change it! So thanks again for doing that, it really captures the spirit of Xmas and Doris.

We've been snowed-in for the past few days in London. On Saturday it was snowing so hard we couldn't even get to a local restaurant for a Xmas meal with a large group of friends that had been arranged a month ago. I like the snow but I feel sorry for all the people stranded at airports and railways around the country.

I do love this banner too, very much, please don't change it, and I'm agree this picture shows the Christmas spirit and Doris.

I was also were snowed under. and beyond that the roads were not swept and sprinkled salt, and in the district where I live with lots of small curves that had properly link to the car to drive. Now here last Wednesday, the municipality roads clean sweep, and it was also thaw, a strange logic, but snow is expected again at Christmas. Hope we have a wonderful white X-mas.

Bryan..
As per usual, you always manage to do just the right thing at the right time. You are a selfless thoughtful individual ,and you always do your best to serve Doris and all her many fans. Thanks to you from all of us for this wonderful forum where we can keep up to date on all the Doris activities past and present, and where we can share with each other our special love for a special lady.
Also, a personal thank you to you from me for all your support for me as I presented those weekly Doris Day Specials on that internet radio station with which I am no longer associated. But, as promised, keep tuned, and I will be letting you all know soon about another place where you can hear a lot of Doris a lot of the time!

Someone drew my attention to this item on the Doris Day website:

Fan Posts Doris Day Interviews

Carmel, Calif. - A dedicated Doris Day fan pointed out to us a great interview archive, featuring the collected news and feature interviews Doris did with various journalists and entertainers over the last few decades.

The Doris Day Forum, which also includes a fan bulletin board, recently posted the interviews as a "Christmas gift" to Ms. Day's many fans.

Downloads from the forum are large, so be prepared to spend a bit of time at your computer. But the results are really worth it.

Happy Christmas, everyone.

You too, Dominique and Lisa..

It's 8pm in London and I think the 3rd glass of red wine has suddenly kicked in. :)

I hope all you Doris fans are having a Happy Christmas - and especially the dear lady herself. I think it's about noon now where Doris lives so she's probably having lunch and wondering how many more presents she can open and how many more phone calls she can cope with!

Here's a toast to Doris Day - and to us fans who have appreciated her talent over the years.

Hi.

What a wonderful Christmas/birthday present for me. My birthday was on January 10. I just discovered these today.

The only problem was that I could not download Doris's appearance on The Mike Douglas show. When I clicked on the link, it said that the web page could not be found. What could have happened?

Could you please repost that one? Thank you very much.

Lucy Ball interviews Doris Day during the making of "Do Not Disturb", 1964/5

This was kindly sent to me by a forum member - I've posted it on YouTube as 'unlisted' - not sure if it's copyright or not but it's a very sweet and interesting interview.

This is available for download above but it's a large file so I'm posting it here for people with slow connections or for those who don't like downloading big files.

Wow Bryan , this was wonderful thank you so much for putting this here so we could hear it. It always seems that whenever a Star interviews another star, that they always talk over the star being interviewd. It never fails. I guess its hard being on the other side of the mic . Poor Doris would try and answer and Lucy would go on about how "she " did things lol. It was a great interview though and I did enjoy it very much. It sounded like they truly loved one another even though they disagreed on the different ways they approached their art.
Thanks a million. Big sister

Thanks big sister - I know what you mean, but it was funny hearing two great women comedy stars talk together like that - although it was 'an interview' by Lucy, she sounded at times just like a fan, I remember reading she said "I like Doris Day" when asked who she admired. I think Lucy, like Doris, had a hard time behind the scenes with men and marriage although they both remained loyal and lifelong friends with the main men in their life, Desi and Marty. Lucy probably identified with Doris and they were both great comedians - and I must admit 'I Love Lucy' too!

I just did a search for pics of Doris & Lucy - I know we've had some published on here - but these are the main ones that came up - tabloid rubbish I know, but great pics!

What a joy! A bunch of interviews of Doris.

Michael Douglas is one of my favs of all time. I recall him being very funny and kind to his guests. In this interviw with Doris I was glad that Steve Allen was there, another of my all time favs, because for some reason Douglas seemed a bit taken aback during his interview of Doris.

Now maybe this is just me.

A stage full of people I love and respect, and of all people it seemed like Douglas wasn't at his best with Doris, though, Steve did pick up the slack and even put Doris in a more comfortable position as she laughed at some of Steve's jokes.

Steve Allen has always tickled my funny bone.

Some of the downloads showed as audio only, which is a shame, but still delightful. The video really were enjoyable, as Doris' expressions could be seen all over her and not just from her voice, which is dynamic in and of itself.

The Best Friends was audio only, though on the screen there seemed to be some indication that it is suppose to be a video, so there might be something wrong with the downloaded version I acquired.

Thank you very much for the delightful Doris interviews.

Just watched (once again! LOL), the episode of Doris on the Mike Douglas show--and found myself wondering (once again! LOL) why it is that I have a smile on my face every time I watch/listen to Doris...?

Doris truly IS like those "dolls with the round bottoms" that she talked about in this interview--the ones who keep bouncing back up when you knock them down. As she said, every dreadful thing that happened to her also brought something beautiful.

Doris, to Mike: "I have a good attitude--why not?" She is truly one who "practices what she preaches"--and it is evident in everything that she does.

And oh, when she sang "Sentimental Journey" at the end of the interview......just heavenly! :)

Hope you're all having a lovely "Day"!

God Bless,
Rachel
