Bryan, The guy next to Stephen Boyd is Bob Cummings, remember he starred with her in "Lucky Me" I had to open it up large to recognize some of them, but a very creative banner. I enjoy seeing other people's work that is what keeps everything interesting. I think you have enough of mine on file if you kept them all so I won't send any more for awhile.

Just to let you all know....The banner was sent to Doris. We know for a fact that she not only received it but LOVED it .
As for Van Heflin, he was never a costar of Doris so he obviously is not the person pictured. Make it a contest, Bryan...See who can guess all the costars in the entire banner, and then Christie can give you the correct answer later. I will start you off: At the piano, Jimmy Durante. On Doris' immediate left and right are James Garner and James Stewart. You take it from there.

I've always loved the banner photo of Doris. I assume that the photo was taken during the band days because of the way she's wearing her hair. She looks to be having such a great time. Does anyone have a clue as to when or where the photo was taken?

It goes without saying that I love the new banner, Bryan....what a special surprise. So, I thank you and Christie. How in the world you guys ever found the picture, I do not know...but I can tell you, it is exactly as I remember seeing Doris those many, many years ago. A little bit of Heaven on Earth for a little boy, and it has lasted a lifetime. Thanks, again...and I hope everyone who gets and reads it will enjoy the book.

A Star is born I like a forties picture with Doris on the left with her hair long and blonde with a flowered blouse and her hand on her hip and Les brown beside her. Haven't seen if for a while. I would have loved to see Doris sing during the band years but I wasn't alive yet Really that must have been thrill for you Mike, how old were you? And why did your parents let you stay up that late

These are a few shots of Doris and her Band days with Les Brown. I just got my copy of Mike's book late yesterday. What I have read so far you can really sense Mike's deep love and affection for this wonderful lady. You feel like you not only learn a lot about Doris but feel like you know Mike as well. Thanks Mike for showing such honor and devotion to this wonderful lady. I know Doris will love it also. ♥

Thank you, Bryan for uploading my pictures. I love how you have made the boarder to this one. It made it quite classy Mike I made this one just for you...thank you for suggesting my picture to Bryan. I haven't read your book yet, but I will soon. I chose this picture thinking that she would have been about that age when you first saw her Good thing I was right!! I'm also interested in knowing where this photo was taken! I randomly found it on google.

Barbara you hit it on the nail.. Mike did a wonderful job sharing his devotion for Doris and sharing his life too. It's a wonderful book...if you haven't bought it you should.

This is one of the biggest surprises ever,opening the forum.It says it all,and the picture is marvelously chosen.I sincerlely hope that the book will be sold by hundreds,it is so different,devotion and admiration,warmth and love and respect.Thanks Bryan,Christie and Mike,very proud you made it to the top!

Mike you do seem very devoted to Doris, so please check out rumors that the people in charge at Overlook may be controlling Doris for their own benefits. Hope it is not true but check it out if you can and prevent it. Nothing like that should be happening at this stage of the game. Can't wait to read your book!

I believe that it is written and approved by Doris that the couple who are working for her will stay at the house when Doris passes on. They will stay there and take care of any remaining animals until the last animal has died and then they must move.

My guess is that Doris arranged that so that her dogs will not be put into a kennel or be adopted out to who knows who. I think Doris sounds like she is thinking clearly with the recent release of her CD. I'd like to think that she's still in control.
