All the great jazz ones= Sarah Vaughan; Billie Holiday; Ella; Anita O'Day; June Christy; Chris Conor; Peggy Lee; Carmen MaCrae; Nancy Wilson;

Later girls = Madeline Peryoux; Stacy Kent; Diana Krall; Dee Dee Bridgewater; Alison Moyet; Sade.

The girl singers- Of which Doris is tops = Rosemary Clooney; Vera Lynn; Alma Coogan; Patti Paige;

Also like Connie Francis on a lot of her recordings.

Oh yes! I like the carpenters too. Not much, but I do like quite a few songs. For males, I like Glen Campbell and Neil Diamond. I like Enya as well and Celine Dion and Delta Goodrem for 'today' singers


I also remembered that Patsy Riggir and Patsy Cline are other two favorites and the Chordettes

Doris Day's singing voice influenced strongly our family's choices in listening to other singers. We have all her original albums and cd's.

Wow. Of all the singers mentioned above, only a small handful would not fall into my favorites column. I'm surprised no one mentioned Bing Crosby. I must be the old fuddy duddy to place Bing Crosby into one of my all time favorites.

May I deviate for a moment and suggest a peek at a current female Japanese pop singer that I find very delightful and charming. In fact I bought her tour DVD at no small expense and placed one of the numbers on YT. In this clip she sings in English in a duet with her lead guitarist. This song remained on the Japanese MTV top 10 for nearly 2 months. Her name is Kuraki Mai and her nick is Mai-K. She has been one of the top Jpop idols for a number of years now:
