I hear that Doris appeared to a group of fans at the side of her property on her birthday (by arrangement) in a long white dress and chatted to them before going off "to eat some spaghetti". That must have been like seeing a vision of the Virgin Mary for Doris fans! :D

I know it won't happen but would like to see Doris and Angela lansbury team up for a Murder She Wrote TV Movie of course filmed in Carmel. They could play long lost sister's working on a murder mystery. Angela said she wants to do one more and Doris is avaliable in between phone interviews! It would be called, Murder They Wrote, Caper in Carmel!!! LOL I have finally gone completley mad!!!!! P.S. Isn't it time for a new banner :?:

That is awesome! I'm so happy for those of you who got to see her! That would have been a wonderful time for me. What a special thing for Doris to have done for those of you loyal fans who faithfully make the pilgramage to her hotel on her birthday. I had really planned to be there this year for my first time with all of you, but work got in the way. :( Maybe next year.

That sounds lovely - I suppose it would have been impolite/intrusive to take a photo?

Here's s new banner (sorry, I'm really busy doing a difficult website and up against a deadline) more on this BluRay release soon and some images from the film that I've been sent - at least one I haven't seen before.

Can you get it on regular DVD? I dreamed last night Doris and Marty melcher came to visit and my Mother was there too.

Thanks Howard, Puck and Ania - I was sent a few images from Universal Pictures (UK) - I hadn't seen this one before either, I have one other unseen one and I'm hoping I will get some more. I was also sent a BluRay copy of the film, which I haven't watched yet but I promised to write a review and help publicise it. I'm also talking to them about having a completion on here to win a DVD, which sounds likely, so that should be fun.

Does anyone here have a BlueRay DVD player? I was wondering if they are 'Region free'? I have a feeling they might be so that people in the US and 'Region 1' could get a copy.

Never saw this picture either. Doris had the same pose in a fimed segment for the Jerry Lewis telethon in 1974 but had a while blouse on. I know this photo is much earlier. Amazing photo. Are the blu ray machiness expensive? A shame you can't see it on regular DVD.

Bryan, according to Amazon, the Blu Ray format released here in the US is "Region A/1."

See the breakout below regarding the different formats. If I read this correctly, it is not "region free" and the format you would purchase through Amazon UK will be different than mine. So I don't think they are compatible.

Region A/1: North America, Central America, South America, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
Region B/2: Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Region C/3: India, Nepal, Mainland China, Russia, Central and South Asia.

Thanks for that JM - luckily it is being produced as Region-free - so everyone can get a copy in their part of the world.

Here's the website's affiliate link at Amazon com:
