Regarding Ray's questions about BLU RAY players, I got one last year when I replaced my old television with a new flat screen HD Smart TV. The store basically "gave" (ha, ha) me the BLU RAY player as part of the overall home entertainment system I was buying. I have to say the visual clarity on BLU RAY is quite impressive. It's the closest thing to a movie theater in terms of picture clarity. But is it worth it to buy one out of pocket? I'm not so sure. If the trend continues toward digital downloading movies off the Internet, then you may not get enough bang for your buck with a BLU RAY player. I find myself using my DVR a lot more and used that to watch all of Doris' films on TCM last month in HD. As with all things technical, it becomes increasingly complex over time and you really have to think about what is practical for you. We can all overload ourselves with gadgets that start to manage us instead of us managing them. Sometimes less is more. Just my two cents.
