Teacher's Pet
Hmmmmm.....for some reason, I, too, am unable to vote; but I would give this film an "excellent." This is DD at her best. The humor is sophisticated--the mambo scene and the spoof DD did of TGWIRR were great--I replay those two scenes the most. I agree with Joe that those scenes were a preview of t...

Shelley Winters
I just noticed in today's paper that the actor, Anthony Franciosa, died Thursday at UCLA Medical Center from a massive stroke. He was 77.
The eerie thing is that he was once married to Shelley Winters. My local paper showed a picture of them from 1960. The timing is kind of surreal.

Glass Bottom Boat
Thanks for the pic of Rod! I see him periodically on shows like MURDER, SHE WROTE; but I wasn't sure if he was still working. And, of course, I remember him in THE BIRDS. I absolutely LOVE this movie--it's on my list of favorites. I was always into the "spy" genre when it was popular (Any other MAN...

I can never understand how people can do anything to deliberately harm another living creature.
I am hoping "Toga" will be reunited with his mother.

Bryan--
Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures of Sheba and Korky....precious.
I think every pet touches one's life in a very special way. I know mine all hold a special place in my heart; and they will always be with me.

7 Cats
I guess it depends on who you talk to, Bryan. I've spoken with people at cat shows who've said, "Oh, ONLY seven? I have 15." <LOL> For some reason, 7 is my personal limit right now. I want to be able to provide them with the proper care. Over the years, I have had 3 of mine euthanized because of in...

Cute
Bryan,
What a cute pic of the cat behind the curtain! I am an animal lover and currently share my home with 7 cats.
I recently received an autograph from Doris addressed to "Wendy and Her Seven Angels"........ I framed and hung that right up on my wall.

The Man Who Knew Too Much
Alfred Hitchcock himself said, in retrospect, that the 1934 version was that of an amateur; and the 1956 version was that of a professional. Hitchcock's daughter, Pat, says MAN WHO is one of her favorite Hitchcock movies in her commentary found on the DVD. I, too, have noticed that this movie seems...

I e-mailed MPI Home Video and they asked me to send them the disc and they'll replace it. Good luck with your replacement disc, Bluebird. A similar thing happened to me with Bear Family's Secret Love set. Disc #4 skipped right at the beginning no matter how I tried to clean it. I notified the vendo...

Bluebird, So far I have watched the first DVD and half of the second one and have not experienced any problems. Do you have another DVD player you can test it on? I notice that some DVDs that don't play as well on my one DVD player will play fine on the other one. One is a Region Free player; the o...

DD Show--Season 2
It certainly is very difficult to be patient while you're waiting for anything DD.
Hang on, everyone. It's worth the wait!
So far, I've watched the first 4 episodes. I'm trying to spread them out when I really want to watch them all at once.

Doris Day Show--Season Two
I just received the DVD's yesterday; last night I watched all the extras and the first two episodes. I remember that first episode as if it was yesterday--when Doris is looking for a job in San Francisco. I LOVE the bloopers. I replayed those several times. Doris says "Damn" a lot when she goofs up...

The Doris Day Show--Season 3
I received a Google Alert tonight about the release of Season 3 of the DD Show: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4312 The article also mentions the release of Doris's 1971 special--THE DORIS MARY ANN KAPPELHOFF SPECIAL, with guest stars Perry Como and Rock Hudson. Keep 'em coming. :D

Real Names
Here's an article I came across in my local paper about "real" vs. "Hollywood" celebrity names. The following are the real names of celebrities as well as their "stage" names created by Henry Willson, a Hollywood agent and idolmaker, who figures in two recently published books: Robert Hofler's THE ...

Re: Book
In the book, The Man Who Invented Rock Hudson, Martin Melcher is called "Farty Belcher", by Hebry Willson because of him not getting producer rights to Pillow Talk. Am just starting The Tab Hunter Book and Doris is mentoned several times in it. I remember that Les Brown also mentioned that nickname...

Tab Hunter
A couple of women who called in on LARRY KING commented that Tab must have "had a drink from the fountain of youth" because he still looked handsome. I think he STILL looks great--I believe he's 74 now. Re his name--he said someone in Hollywood told him they had to "tab" him with a different name. ...

Tab Hunter
I watched the interview, Ralph. I, too, thought it was interesting. I learned a lot since I knew little about Tab before this. I guess the program was also timed to coincide with the release of his book. He indicated he wanted to get a "jump" on things because a writer indicated that an unauthorize...

Howard,
I know these songs don't really belong to Doris; but I agree with Bryan. I think many people have come to consider them Doris's.
And I can't help contrasting the newer versions with the one's Doris sang.

Other Musical Artists Singing Doris's Songs
Recently, I have bought 2 CD's by artists reprising some of the pop classics; and, ironically, on BOTH these CD's, I have come across songs that Doris sang. 1) The first one is the Queen Latifah CD where she sings standards. She does a GREAT Close Your Eyes . I rarely like "cover" records, but I wa...

Re: PRO DAY
I have only ever seen 2 of the shows from Season one and thoroughly enjoyed both. One was the babysitter - the scene with the chimney soot was hilarious! The other show was the one with the escaped Lion or tiger (don't think you guys have got to that one yet). Doris looked fantastic and it is wonde...

Hi Ray-- I got a kick out of your post. I was wondering if I moved and didn't know about it. I live in New Jersey although I have driven through Tennessee and Georgia and all those southern states--the pace of life does seem a tad slower. BTW--I recently finished watching all four discs; ho...
