Re: Sad News
I am definitely interested in continuing this forum and am willing to financially help to support it. It has been a treasure trove of information about Doris and a wonderful way for us to express our love for her. The thing I will never forget about Bryan is an ongoing discussion he and I had on the...

Re: September Song and My #1 Dream
This is interesting. There are two songs, "September Song" and "September in the Rain." On the back cover of the Blue Skies album it states that song number 20 is "September Song." I found the lyrics for both songs and listened to Doris sing number 20 again only to find she is definetly singing "Sep...

Re: September Song and My #1 Dream
I have September Song as #20 on a CD entitled Blue Skies. Looks like the composers and publisher are listed
but not the band. And My Number One Dream Came True is #15 on Disc 2 of The Complete Doris Day With Les Brown, a 2 CD album.

Re: Doris Day on Live Radio Shows 40's/50's
I may have found the song you're discussing. On the CD that I got from the DDAF within the past one or two years, entitled "Day Time On The Radio," Doris sings a duet with John Agar called "I Will Marry You." There's very little in the liner notes but it does say that John Agar was only on Doris' ra...

Re: Romance On The High Seas Songs
Thanks Johnny for the additional information. I went back and revisited the travel agency scenes and can see how I easily missed it. It was indeed a few notes. I also listened to the whole song on youtube sung by someone else because they didn't have a DD version. I couldn't tell if Doris' few notes...

Re: Romance On The High Seas Songs
"The other songs by Doris, I'm In Love and She's A Latin From Manhattan are delightful." Johnny: You wrote the above in a recent post of yours regarding the songs in Romance On The High Seas. I don't recall a song called She's A Latin From Manhattan. I even watched the movie again the other night an...

Thanks to all of you for your comments and "pats on the back" so to speak. I had no idea that this trip and the ceremony were going to affect me so deeply, but they did. I'm very glad I was able to be there and share it with you. After I got home, I realized that someone else was there that I wished...

Bryan: Thanks for your very kind comments. I had intended to ask Marion if she was in contact with Doris but I forgot to do so. Peter: Thanks for finding that article about Doris' accident. There are two things in it that jumped out at me. One is that Marion's memory as to the location of the accide...

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2017
This past Wednesday, 9/27/17, I had a wonderful day in Cincinnati honoring a Wonderful Doris Day!!! Just being in Cincinnati, where Doris was born and where she spent her early years was an emotional experience for me. Afterall, I've been listening to her sing since I was four years old and first he...

This reply is intended for all but especially for Peter Flapper, since you live in the Netherlands. I just wanted to share that there is a wonderful old hotel in downtown Cincinnati that is called the Netherland Hilton. I believe it was built in 1930 and opened in 1931. It is an elegant hotel with w...

Thank you Michael for posting this article. I was wondering how and why this celebration was happening and now I know. There's yet another dyed in the wool Doris Day fan in Cincinnati working hard to make it happen.
Let's hear it for us!!!

Here's a link to an article written by a woman who grew up in Price Hill, the Cincinnati neighborhood where Doris was born and spent her early years. And apparently the woman is still there so she might be a good source for information. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/local/community-news/2015/...

Day After Day Edit Report this post Quote Post by Renie » Mon May 25, 2015 9:45 pm I've been on a quest to find a recording of some kind of the song Doris' last name, Day, was taken from. I had read that Doris never recorded it which is no doubt true because she sang it so early on in Barney Rapp da...

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Here's a new quiz. I found 12 Doris Day movies in which the character she portrays has a first name that starts with the letter "J." How many can you find? State the name of the movie and the first and last names of Doris' character in it.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
I found yet another Doris child in Lover Come Back. The film ends with Doris being wheeled into a hospital delivery room as she and Rock Hudson are being remarried. And the wedding dress previously posted and labeled "April in Paris" is actually from "It's a Great Feeling" at the very end of the mov...

Thanks Johnny. I need a little time and then I'll post something. I was puzzled about the April In Paris wedding gown picture too. But then I remembered seeing a picture of Doris in a dance costume that said it was from Lullaby of Broadway but it was actually from Love Me Or Leave Me. This wasn't on...

If I recall correctly, the baby in "That Touch of Mink" was dressed in pink -- so probably it's a girl.
I went back and looked at the end of the movie again. The baby is dressed in white.

I agree with you James. I started hearing Doris sing on the radio when I was very young and growing up in a troubled family. In all this time she has been in a special place in my heart.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
The question is: "What were the films where Doris Day wore a wedding dress?" With it worded this way, we would have to count "I'll See You In My Dreams." Doris' wedding to Danny Thomas is not included in the movie. However, shortly after we know they were wed, there's a scene with Doris looking at t...

With regard to a previous question about children Doris had in her movie roles, I found another child. At the very tail end of That Touch of Mink, Doris and Cary Grant are married and they are strolling through the park with their baby in a carriage. We are left to wonder how old the baby is and whe...

Here's the next quiz question. In addition to the fact that Doris Day starred in all these films, what other one thing do they all have in common? Young Man With A Horn; I'll See You In My Dreams; The Winning Team;
Calamity Jane; and Love Me Or Leave Me are the films.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Yes, Peter, thanks so much for sending that link to the award ceremony. I had last seen that video a while ago. I am moved by Norman Jewison's tribute to Doris and reminded of how down to earth and human Doris Day truly is. In my view, this is what sets her apart from other famous people. And thank ...
