Re: Sad News
Hello again Michael, I just spent some more time looking at the phpBB Website. I think they only provide facilities to create and run a forum, not a complete website . I say this because there is an article on the phpBB site entitled "Moving your forum from one hosting provider or domain to another ...

Re: Sad News
Hi Michael,
Thanks for doing that. Let's hope the phpBB support team can provide some information, or a workaround, so that the site doesn't suddenly disappear before everyone who is interested has a chance to discuss the best way forward.

Re: Sad News
I would certainly like to see this site continue, and would be willing to help in any way that I can. I've just been having a quick look around some of the options at the top and bottom of the screens in the Forum. On the left, under the banner at the top of each page, there are three horizontal lin...

Re: Sad News
Hello Michael, Many thanks for passing on this tragic news about Bryan. I haven't posted on the Forum for some time on the basis that, if you don't have anything useful to say, it's better to say nothing at all. I have, however, been 'dropping in' to keep up to date with things. I totally agree with...

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Happy Easter to everyone! Bryan and Puck, thanks from me too for the latest banner! Doris looks really happy there with her basket of eggs. I also like the shade of blue she's wearing. Is everyone coping okay? I haven't been outside for weeks now - mostly I'm coping well but other times it seems lik...

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Hi Simon, Thanks for you comments about the David Hartman interviews and good to know that I was able to point you to something you hadn't seen before. I learnt something too, in that David Hartman was also an actor and had been in "The Ballad of Josie'" with Doris. It does go a long way to explain ...

Hi Johnny, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the David Hartman interviews and share my thoughts about the emotional connection between Doris and Rock. I have seen the Vicki Lawrence interview in the past, and I'm sure it will already be somewhere on the Forum. However, I'll post the link here to ...

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Hi Michael, I've been saving your second tribute to Doris until I had time to relax and sit down to watch it. That I have just done (twice actually) and I have to agree with Johnny - it is indeed a delight. The loving way she talks to the children is so genuine, you could really believe they were he...

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Michael, thank you so much for that beautiful tribute to our Birthday Girl. So very moving, there were tears in my eyes too. I'm really sad we couldn't have watched it at the fan event at Julien's Auction Gallery, I was so looking forward to the week in LA. However, the good news for me is that I go...

Hi Bryan, Thanks for the link to the five suggested musicals to keep you going during a lockdown. Re: Forum Banners 2019
Hi Bryan, I really like this banner since the scene comes from my own personal favourite Doris Day film. She made better films, but none of them has the effect on me that 'Romance on the High Seas' does. I've lost count of the times I have watched it, and every time when Doris comes on stage to sing...

Peter, Many thanks for posting the link to the Julien's Auction video about Doris' home at 'Overlook'. I too found it very moving to see the inside of her home in such detail. Also to fully appreciate the amazing view she had looking down over Carmel Valley. Like her, I am an 'outdoors' person and c...

It's gone a bit quiet around here - how ya' all doin'? Hi Bryan, I was thinking that too! I'm still here, but having increasing doubts about my planned trip to LA. I'll leave it until the last minute before deciding - things are not looking good, however. I like the latest banner too. An ideal colo...

Re: Let Us Remember
Hi Johnny, Yes, it came as a shock when I read it as he didn't seem all that old to me. I suppose I still think of him as Doris' son in 'With Six You Get Eggroll'. I haven't been able to find any other reports of his passing on the Internet. I think he recalled in the Q & A session at the 2018 birth...

Re: The Legacy of Doris Day
Thanks from me too, Bryan, for sight of this excellent review/appraisal of Doris. Many people have commented on how her acting talents might have might have been more widely appreciated had she been 'allowed' to play roles in other films, such as 'South Pacific'. I recently borrowed a film on DVD fr...
