Re: Chatting about Doris...
I was just wondering if Ray Romano is Melcher's illegitimate son. Anyone know? Romano worked with a Rosenthal in the making of "Everyone like Raymond", and with those accents- well, they sound like Rose Marie!

Doesn't Marty look like Gomer Pyle in this photo? Could they be related? He was related to some people at MCA, and they arranged talent. https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hp ... e=57B04D89

Re: Doris Day Films Ranked on Cogerson Movie Scores
Sad that Doris' marriage was destroyed by crooked bankers, who cheated her out of her money and gave her no credit. Heart attack city - just like Bernie Madoff. Live and learn! I was also disappointed Doris did not go incognito and investigate.

Re: Forum Banners 2014
Who has a home for a stray dog? Recently, the oldest star in the universe was named after Mickey Rooney. Just before that, Mickey outgrew his home of many years and with it his wife left him for greener pastures. Sort of down and out in Beverly Hills. Love is patient, is kind. Perhaps Mickey will f...

Mary Wickes : I know I've seen that face before ...
Mary Wickes knew many people, although her lack of acceptance to higher circles of Hollywood, made her an interesting vehicle for insight into the community. Mary was a known associate of Doris, as well as Lucille Ball.

Re: Your Least Favourite Doris Day Film
The least favorite for me was episode 26 of Doris Day's Best Friends with Leslie Nielsen. I waited, and waited for something else - just a fairway shot or something.... for a film- Eggroll, because it was her last. Then there was only Boxcar Bertha, and Two Mules for Sister Sara. It was sad she had ...

Doris is bigger than the Academy. Betty White mentioned Doris: perhaps she had seen this spread. Said something about it making no sense to "egg her on".

Re: Forum Banners 2013
I have a question. I just wrote a piece about LSD, and it reminded me of Cary Grant, who used it to adjust his life, and he claimed to learn to enjoy being with women then, really for the first time. Did Ms Day have anything to do with this? He started his "therapy", in the early sixties; at about t...

Whatever is going on here? Looks like a jolly ball. Just wanted to say, actually, that I have waited for Doris's new film, after seeing "With Six you get Eggroll". Had to wait in line quite awhile for the Saturday afternoon performanance. Still have my "Slow-Pokes", and I am still waiting. There wil...

Re: Your Least Favourite Doris Day Film
Marty needed to be bold- needed to deal with the syndicate, and Hollywood's descent into a drug and Robbins culture. They needed secrets... and Rose Marie, well, only knew recipes. They needed to follow the money.

Re: Forum Banners 2012
Keeping track of Doris is a lot like watching the production and performance of the dance of 7 veils. We never know exactly what is coming up. I was wondering about vocal imitation and how that is considered in the biz. There have been performers that have completely changed the manner in which they...

Re: Forum Banners 2012
Blue ray refers to a very high density optical disk, that uses a blue laser (high frequency). This is the only way to use the immensely large video files for video generation- because the Internet for most people is just too slow to handle such files, hence the market. Doris has said that she would ...

Re: Booklist for DayReaders
There is a need for more literature on Doris. I still do not think we have captured the essence of this woman. We are left wondering "what is a day in her life like?". I have been told she can be quite business like and I am sure that is true... but there is no inkling of this in her literature. The...

Food inflation is being confronted by allowing the slaughter of horses, by Obama and our everpopular US Congress. It seems to me that Doris had something to say about this when working on the Hitchcock film. I am enjoying Doris' new popularity. Boy, give me Doris, J Edgar Law and Order, and cow burg...

Maverick: Oh, what the hell! I feel like being silly. I'll call... Uh...
[clearing his throat]
Maverick: It's just a pair of sixes. If you can beat that you got me licked, and that's not a totally unpleasant prospect.

I hope Jim will have a dalliance with a Lady Luck.

Did I hear Doris say she had lots of recorded music no one wanted to distribute? If she wanted she could do that herself, with some help. Where is Ryan? Perhaps he could go through it. Doesn't he work at Capital? Bronchitis can be painful around the ribs, and I hope her condition has resolved. She s...

Yes, she was beautiful, and still is! This despite her crying all the time over the breakup of her marriage. No wonder she dried so much - made her beautiful, made her a star, and had men running about for tissues. Go right, right, right over to your left to find the powder room Doris. Are you okay?

It could be worse. You could be in the boat of Michael Douglas, whose health is similar to Bogart or Gordon MacRae, I presume from similar lifestyles.

Mitch Miller was still there for Doris, but of course, he was a family man. There are not many like him anymore. American heroes who stand up for what is good for their country and children. People like Ronald Reagan, John Wayne, Bob Hope..., and even Rock Hudson, who btw could not even carry a sing...
