Hello Everyone,
I’m still having password issues but managed to log on today.
Jacques has contacted the host platform again but there has been no progress. He told me this morning that he will let me know as soon as he has any news to report.
Wishing you all a healthy 2021!
Michael

Re: Forum Banners 2019-2020
I hope everyone is healthy and safe this holiday season. Visiting the forum has become bittersweet for me. The number of active posters has become virtually nil since Bryan passed and I feel his absence each time I check-in. It's nice to read the few new posts that appear but the experience is not t...

Re: Sad News
Thank you, Dominque. The forum isn't the same anymore without Bryan's chipper personality and creativity. I reached out to Jacques today to see if there has been any progress with the forum migration. Will let everyone know as soon as I hear back. LATEST UPDATE from Jacques re: the Forum Migration -...

Re: Chatting about Doris...
This is a duplicate of the message I just posted in the Sad News thread. I wanted to be sure that everyone saw the latest information about the migration to the British Library as well as the new Facebook Group that Jacques is setting up in Bryan's honor. Hello everyone, Jacques is moving forward wi...

Re: Sad News
Hello everyone, Jacques is moving forward with migrating the forum to the British Library archives. He expects to have a timeline soon and I will share that with you as soon as he has a firm date. He is also creating a new Doris Day Facebook Group in Bryan's honor and he asked me to collect the name...

Re: Jumbo
I've always loved Jumbo! It's cinematic comfort food of the highest order. And let's not forget that Doris, Stephen Boyd, Jimmy Durante, Martha Raye and the film were nominated for Golden Globe awards. I think it might have been a bigger hit if they'd filmed it ten years earlier but it stands as one...

Re: Sad News
All, I haven't heard anything more from Jacques. He is probably very busy and consumed with grief. These things take time and the forum may not be his top priority at the moment. Let's try to be patient. I don't believe there is any harm in posting as long as we don't upload huge files, photos, or v...

Re: Sad News
All, Jacques continues to work with the British Library on migrating legacy versions of DorisDay.net and the forum to their archives at some point in the near future. As soon as those plans are firm and a target date is determined, I will let everyone know. He is unable to log-on to the forum and pr...

Re: Doris Mentioned in New Book about Hitchcock and Actors
I often wonder if some of these critics and authors have children. If they did, they might understand what abject parental panic and fear look like. It's a feeling of helplessness, guilt and terror like no other. Toss-in Jo McKenna's high strung nature, her resentment towards Ben for uprooting her t...

Thats a nice idea, Johnny. I like it. In case you missed it before, here is a link to donate money to the Marie Curie hospice care provider who assisted Bryan during his transition. I donated a few days ago and it was easy to do. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Bryan-Robert-James?utm_campaign...

What a beautiful tribute, Ania.
I completely understand how you feel. His presence is everywhere on the forum. Bryan is the forum. How can he no longer be here? This is a huge loss.

Re: Sad News

The Doris Day Tribute page on Twitter posted this beautiful photo today. Bryan's partner, Jacques, asked him to share it with the fans. I'm hoping it will be OK to post it here. According to the Tweet, they played Doris's music at the funeral. So sweet, so fitting. Here's the text that went with the...

Re: Sad News
Hi Robert, I just read your last post. Sorry, but I don't know anything about Dianne or what her duties were as an administrator. Your point about the size of the files is a valid one. If the site resides on "free, open-source bulletin board software," then he could have been paying extra for them t...

I'm hoping Bryan authorized someone to handle things and they will provide an update at some point. If it resides on a dedicated space provided by a hosting platform, Br...

Re: Sad News
I want to thank everyone who shared their thoughts about Bryan and what he meant to you. It appears he did not grant administrative rights to anyone else and I'm unclear what the future holds for the forum. It is entirely possible that it will vanish one day without advance notification to the membe...
