Surprising quote I just unearthed from Boy George:

God Bless Doris Day! What a voice. What a legend. R.I.P.

There's a copy of "Doris Day, Her Own Story" available on Ebay for $10.00. If you haven't read or owned it, now is a good time.

Re: Forum Banners 2019

Bryan: A number of years ago I emailed Jim Pierson (MPI Video), an authority on everything Doris, and asked about "The Pajama Game" not being televised. Here was his reply verbatim: "WB only have HOME VIDEO rights. Although they "own" the film, Warners made an unfortunate deal on Pajama Game and Dam...

Re: Poll: Doris Would Have Been Better

Thanks, Johnny. Looking over the list of film possibilities, "South Pacific" is my number one choice, by far. Doris as Nellie Forbush would have been one for the ages. She was born to play that role ... Can you imagine Doris with her infectious, exuberant personality, in addition to her dancing skil...

Re: Poll: Doris Would Have Been Better

As far as I know, Johnny, Doris never recorded "Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair."
PS: I see you've eliminated "Wash That Man" from your original post.

Re: 2020 Doris Day photos

Peter - thanks so much for posting so many wonderful, rare photos. I've seen the first photo at the Academy Awards rehearsal, and was always so disappointed in that her back was turned to the camera. But the other two - a rare treat! Thanks again!

Re: Top 5 Favourite Doris Day Christmas Songs

Michael, you're so right about "Let No Walls Divide" being timely. Can't remember when there has been such division in our country (USA). When Reagan helped to bring down the wall in Germany, I wrote Doris and suggested that she get Columbia Records to release the song everywhere. It's a great, mean...

Re: Chatting about Doris...

Unbelievable! There's not a clunker in this list. Just great films ... with one exception. I too am not a fan of "It's a Wonderful Life." I've never been able to get through it. After having read this, I sent a retort mentioning "Love Me or Leave Me," "Calamity Jane" and "The Thrill of it All," all ...

Love how they describe Doris in this brief tribute on the Vanity Fair web site:

"Doris Day
A singer-actress with the keen ability to embody both sexiness and wholesomeness, Doris Day will forever be remembered as a true Hollywood icon who always left us wanting more."

Wonderful, Doc. Thanks so much. Couldn't agree more about "South Pacific." Doris was a natural to have played Nellie Forbush. Mitzi Gaynor was good, but DD would have been great. Her shining hour, I believe.

DORIS DAY - THE GRADUATE

Just skimmed through a new book entitled "Life Isn't Everything," Mike Nichols as remembered by 150 of his closest friends. Larry Turman, the film's producer, is quoted as follows: "For Mrs. Robinson, I was interested in Doris Day, because she's Miss All-America. I sent the book to her manager, who ...

Re: DD AUCTION - YOUTUBE POSTING

I was hoping perhaps someone (Dennis Levett?) at the Cypress Inn would make acommodations in the hotel for a DD museum. And all that good stuff that is going up for auction, plus maybe some donations from us fans, could be a real boon to the tourism business in Carmel. Not that they need it, but it ...
