Nice avatar, Gerald. Is that you or Dick Van Patten?(don't have my glasses on).

Yes, Bryan, I have. I'm hoping DK did some good research on Doris and doesn't write a bunch of trash.

Somewhat unrealistic, but Doris' character worked so hard to make him change. She even pleaded with him in the hospital. I'm going to watch this movie over the weekend.

That's sweet. Diane seemed so touched by Doris' letter. How often we hear people say that Doris reminded them of their own mother.

Page 18 "But nothing seem to daunt the persistent image of me as the unsullied sunshine girl of health and drive-in." I think she does appear to be sunshine and wholesome in her films. I was watching April in Paris, the other day, and although she was playing a chorus girl, all I could see was sweet...

Young at Heart: uncut recording sessions

I made friends with a Doris Day fan on youtube. He sent me uncut recording sessions of Doris Day and Frank Sinatra recording Young at Heart. Have you ever heard of this? What do you think?

Your right John, It would have been wonderful if Doris taped and unabridged version of her book. All the forum members would be scrambling to get a copy. :P I heard she was disappointed in the book after it came out. It seems her friend's comments about how they didn't like Marty Melcher suprised he...

I first read this book last year. I was so impressed by it that I took it over to my sister's and read it to her. We were both silent after we read about her car accident. She retold it so vividly. It seemed like every time Doris was about to get ahead, fate stepped in. When it looked like she was g...

I noticed he hadn't been posting and wondered what happened. I always enjoyed his witty comments and his "Read my review people!" When you have been on this forum for a while, the people become like your extended family members. You get to know what they like and dislike (when it comes to Doris). He...

I don't know how much this will help, but if you go to the Turner Classic Movie website and type in Doris Day's Best Friends, you will see on the right a place to vote for it to come out on home video. When I voted, there were already 25 votes.

They are both available... in the UK. My sister had the good sense to make a copy of April in Paris when it came out on VHS. Then she copied over the first ten minutes. I have the amazon unboxed download of it. The Ballad of Josie is on the AMC channel regularly. It was just on Saturday (April 19th).

I think Pajama Game went into public domain, meaning it was not protected by copyright and cheap companies have distributed it. I saw it for 4.99 with 3 other movies at Kmart. The older movies made by Warner Bros don't have a lot of extra features. I guess they never thought the movies would be put ...

Bryan he looks like my sister's cat. She found him laying near her tire one day. He was about 5 months old and we took care of him and his health improved. He grew up to be rather "fluffy" cat.
