I saw the Pajama Game for the first time today. What a novel idea, make a musical in the fifties, that is set in the fifties. I loved this musical! It seemed so original. Things I liked about this film; Doris Day singing several songs. I thought John Rait had a wonderful voice, and I liked the numbe...

When you see other musical biography films of that time, they are usually so far from the truth. They are made to be funny, and enteraining. Then along comes this gritty film. It is a multilayered film of abuse and love. I saw a picture of the main charachers and wondered, was he really the big gang...

Of course I liked this film. I think it is one of the best she made. I apprieciate the comments because I wasn't even born yet when this film was made.

If I was allowed to vote on it, I would have given it an excellent.

I love this film. A few years ago, I didn't know DD made films before the sixties. When I saw Dynamite Jackson (DD), I thought wow, she is dynamite! She looked so beautiful. Ok, we need someone who is kind of a nerd, funny and can really dance. I thought Ray Bolger was perfect for this film. His act...

There is wonderful chemistry between Doris and Rock and I think out of the 3 movies they did together, this is the funniest. The script has some witty lines . When I first came to this forum 3 years ago, it was my least favorite of the three Day/ Hudson films. I have since changed my mind. LCB has t...

Hi, I also rated Pillow Talk excellent. I think it is one of Doris' best films. The scrift was good and what chemistry between Doris and Rock! I have seen Rock Hudson in the three of Doris' films as well as three others. I have to agree with the review, he is at his best with Doris. By this film, Do...

When this movie came out, it must have been a spectacular circus musical. Very colorful, very unusual acts. Durante is the perfect clown. For a circus movie buff this is a true prize. Doris is beautiful. Compared to Doris' other movies, does this movie show off her comic or dramatic talent? no. Does...

Hi Ray,

I read this information a long time ago so it might not be acuate. He would have been 20 years old, so i don't know who he could have been. I can't find any other information about his first film. The first one I found listed was in 1954.

I just want to add I heard this Day/ Hudson film wasn't as popular as the other two because the characters were already married. Of their three films, the one I liked the least was Lover Come Back . I thought it was a rehashed plot of Pillow talk , although Hudson and Day were great in it. Day despi...

Hi Everyone, Yes, I agree with you Brian, Tea For Two is not as good as "Jane". But as you say, the singing and dancing are great, and so is the chenistry. Of couse, I haven't seen a movie that Doris wasn't good in. I love all the actors in Tea. I also heard this was Robert Wagner's first film.

I have to agree with Joe T. If you you saw On Moonlight Bay first, the By the Light... doesn't seem as funny. I know this is probably just me, but I liked her hair and make up better in On Moonlight Bay. It was supposed to be set around 1917. I thought they were pushing it just a little.

I also was impressed with Doris' dancing. This is the first film were I relized how good she was at it. Her voice was beautiful as always.

I loved this film, altough I think it showcases the talent of Hudson and Randall more than Day. I would have given it an excellent, but I hit the wrong button.
