Re: The Globe Should Be Sued AGAIN!!!

and someone is reporting to this trashy tabloid!! Only the scummiest of scumbags write for or report to the tabloids. But, sadly, the world is full of scumbags. I've yet to figure out the interest in celebrity personal lives. It really is a disease. A non-entity looking for some sort of connection ...

Samantha, I HATED the way they acted before she even opened her mouth. So sad. They were so pompous and cruel. Good for her!! I hope she wins.

But I do like it a lot. I think Barbra's concerts are great.
Good eye, Marion. Lauren and the other actors who appeared with Barbra in the concert pre-recorded their parts and lip sync'd to them. Only Barbra sang "live."

Well you guys have Midnight Lace and The Ballad of Josie on DVD, which we don't have over here in America. And you guys have had Tea for Two out for a while, I believe. So there's some things you get that we don't. :(

Re: Doris Day's Yellow Hat - collector's item

No. Doris wore a yellow rain hat in the beginning of her show that was shot in San Francisco after they moved it from the 'farm"... and drove a matching Plymouth or Chrysler car in the opening, too. It was sort of a rip off of the opening of Mary Tyler Moore's tv show on at the time for some reason...

Beverly Boyer, that's exactly what I said. What a butthead he was to say that to her and then not talk her out of hanging up so soon. Jerk.

Anyway, she sounds awesome, and it was so sweet and sad to hear her cry. Just wish she had been on as long as this morning, which was awesome!

FYI, I got the error message to, but hit the "PLAY" button on my media player and it started playing anyway. So anyone who still gets the error message. try that. :D

Listening to John Denver on the station right now. About 7 minutes until party-time!

Re: Magic 63 Broadcast on April 3, 2009 :-)

And let's not even talk about how and where many of the (especially smaller) animals are electrocuted so that the fur isn't "burned" or "singed" in the process. Absolutely horrific. And these day, Doris doesn't even wear fake fur. She's absolutely against the message of any animal skin being worn fo...

It's a great pic, and the reality is Doris chose to wear fur for many, many years. There certainly are lots of pics around with her wearing it. But not many are as cute as that one! :)

Re: Casting - The Doris Day Story

While I agree with Megan about usually wanting to see the performers do their own singing instead of being dubbed, I'm can't make up my mind in this case. I usually prefer the undubbed, like Sissy Spacek's extraordinary performance in Coal Miner's Daughter . Also, in that same movie, millions heard ...

Re: Casting - The Doris Day Story

I like Bryan's idea of Charlize. I was also thinking that while she doesn't have a face just like Doris' (although, as Megan said, that's not always important), one person I do think could pull it off is Kate Winslet. She could do the freckled face Babe Williams look all the way to the stunning Jean...

Re: Casting - The Doris Day Story

I agree. There isn't one person who could do justice to the part. That we know of anyway. Maybe there's some immensely talented newcomer waiting to be discovered, but I doubt it. I think that's one of the reasons Doris became so hugely poplular. There were other nice, blonde, girl-next-door types (l...

Re: Bewitched

I just need to buy the DVD's so I don't get confused any more. I've been watching it on TV and IMDB. Do both of the Mrs.Kravits' look alike, and sound alike? Or are they totally different? When does the second Darrin come in? Like on Sunday's they show later shows with the second Darrin and Adam, b...

Re: Bewitched

When does the second one come in? I think I'm on like season 5 or something. There's no Adam yet. The 1st Mrs. Kravitz (Alice Pearce, the one in Glass Bottom Boat) was seasons 1-2. The 2nd one (Sandra Gould) was seasons 3-7 (the Kravitzes didn't appear in the last season.) Samantha revealed she was...

Megan, I highly recommend renting the dvds and watching the show in order if you get a chance. Samantha, I agree. I think Bewitched holds up better than Jeannie. Megan, they cast those 2 as Doris' next door neighbors in Glass Bottom Boat specifically because they were so hot on BW at the time. It was the #2 rated show on TV when they were filming GBB. It's so sad in the second season of BW yo...

And of course Phil Carey starred in Calamity Jane with our dear Doris. I was sad to hear about his passing. And really shocked to hear about Clint Ritchie, who played Clint. How sad. Although I wasn't aware that he was already 70!
