Miss Maxwell -- I have always been a Garner fan. I was a Rockford Files addict when it was on tv. I've seen him on talk shows over the years - he is so genuine - just a really nice guy - and funny, too! He's sooo good ! And a real cutie !! http://i4.tinypic.com/868gq43.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/8bj4...

Love the Kym Karath Pic - thanks. I have to agree with Doris...I thought she and Garner were terrific together ! Of course, I'm a huge Garner fan - but putting that aside - they had great chemistry and looked great together. They really looked as if they could be married. And, they did some great ar...

even today, the gleam of Day’s persona brightens any room, at least until the malaise of the 6 o’clock news rolls around. That line is certainly true ! I don't understand the absence of this movie on TV. You guys are right - on TCM, for instance, they never include this one on the DD days. Strange. ...

You're so right. The foreign press was always better to her. Sad but true. And, I also think you're right that she doesn't need this kind of thing any longer. She seems to be way past Hollywood. Which I admire. She had that career - it was highly successful and fulfilling at that time - now she has ...

Well - you are probably right. If it took them that long to even offer her the honor - you're right - they were ignoring her. Being such a fan - it is amazing to me that they didn't recognize her talent. I guess I don't understand how she was overlooked for so long. And - is still being overlooked -...

I'm with you Howard- I usually get a little upset when I watch those AFI shows - because I don't agree with a lot of their lists. You know they have to leave her off because she turned them down. Petty isn't it ?!!

I really love this movie. Doris made such a great mother. Isn't it wonderful that she didn't feel her career would be threatened to play a mother ? She did it with ease - its so enjoyable to watch her with all the boys. I love to watch her with the baby - they really connect in all their scenes toge...

Thanks for that information, Howard. Eleanor Parker was nominated for "Interrupted Melody" a bio of Australian opera singer Marjorie Lawrence. She was stricken with polio but continued her career in spite of her handicap. The singing was dubbed by opera singer Eileen Farrell. Interesting that MGM we...

She talked about it in her book too. She was having breathing problems -actually hyperventilating - thought she was really sick and I guess almost had a nervous breakdown. Anyway - she got medical help and was fine. But - at the time she wasn't accessible to the press, as she had always been in the ...

It seems that Hollywood works in these strange ways quite often. I'm not saying that Doris shouldn't have been nominated for Pillow Talk - but - she deserved a nomination for the other movies that you've mentioned. Definitely for Love Me or Leave Me. Hollywood does seem to pass actors up for several...
