I'm urging everyone to look at www.cinematreasures.org .. mentioned in my earlier post. Look up the theatres you remember! In many cases, especially for larger, important theatres, there are photos and serious comments by people who were there; so if you're interested.. The change has happened very ...

One of the best for me: Romance on the High Seas (DD's very funny in it); and The Pajama Game and Teacher's Pet and . . Ro (memytgrl), we're getting off topic talking about theatres, but they were great. It was another world, mystical, as you say. They were one of the first places to experience "Air...

Bryan, wasn't Julie Christie's long-ago Oscar for "Darling" rather than "Dr. Zhivago"? I was hoping she'd win again tonight (it's still Sunday here).

I missed the first hour but phoned a friend who said the Lifetime achievement award for Doris hadn't been announced yet. Then when it came late I thought too that it had been saved (the best for last?) and appropriately announced by Tony Bennett & Natalie Cole. And the few photo shots of DD, fast as...

So far we only know the title and what's on the cover; that's what my post was about. Maybe there are only a limited number of photos for which the rights could be obtained by the publisher--too bad someone chose this one. If the title were "DORIS: The Untold Story" it would be something to anticipa...

Is the Tom Santopietro book a "biography" just because a blogger says so in a so-called "review" (Bryan's post on Page 1)? I thought it was said to be, in 2007, a chronology of DD's life and an examination of her career. That doesn't make it a biography. DD's own book (Doris Day, Her Own Story--by A...

A lot of great photos all over this site, but if the cover photo for Kaufman's book is the one that's shown (in Howard's post above) it's an even more untypical "look" than the one on Santopietro's book jacket last year..

1984 Doris Day radio interview

With the help of Lloyd in Des Moines (who put tape to CD) and Bryan in London (who uploaded it to MediaFire) we have a radio interview that was repeated in 1988 and taped then.

File name: Doris-Day-radio-interview-Bud-Carey-1984.mp3 (43.03 MB)

Number of "pages"? More. Number of "Views"? Far more.

It's Hitchcock week on AMC in the u.s., and some are good, some not so good (his 1972 movie, "Frenzy", done at Pinewood studios and around London, was great).
