Song

A dear forum friend reminded me that the song Doris and Fran Ryan sang on the front porch was, Down By The Old Mill Stream, not Sweet Sixteen as I reported. Had such a warm and cozy feel with Doris warbling on the front porch on a summer's eve, thats what heaven would be like!!!

TV Shows

Nothing is either good nor bad. I think Doris said this in one of her interviews years ago. She also said there were movies she made she wasn't that crazy about but people would write her and say they enjoyed them or were upifted by them. I am a caregiver to My Mother who is 84 and she loves it when...

The Matchmaker

Show aired October 22, 1968-- Billy and Tobey play cupid for their widowed mother, chosing the local deputy to be their stepfather. This show had the look and feel of Mayberry RFD and The Andy Griffen Show, with a deputy like Barney Fife! I am sure this is what Marty Melcher and CBS had in mind with...

What's My Line

Brayn aren't you going to get the DVD boxed set? That way you can watch the What's My Line segments from 1954 and 1957. 1954 was actually Doris's first time on TV. Everyone thought her TV show was the first time. The design and artwork and photos are well worth it, along with the extras and the shows.
