Sad to read of his death. I too love that scene and wish there was more, they looked soo good together, Doris was indeed the dream older [slightly] woman for young guys. I know a real 'man's man [macho] who is only around 42 now but has been saying for years to his incredibly sexy and beautiful [an...

Re: Yet another Day article

Interesting article. Those flower children/hippies of the 1960s! They're to blame for the backlash against Doris in the late 1960s early 1970s. I'm sure in their eyes, Doris was too "square" and "establishment" for them. Unfortunately, even though there were just as many people who were not l...

Re: The Ballad of Josie

I didn't like this movie. Doris was good as usual, but after playing career women, stylish mothers, groovy spys and generally modern women, this was such a departure. I don't like westerns to begin with and to have Doris in a western at this point was odd. There were a few fun moments, but by and la...

Love this movie. I too think her hair looks great in it and I like her clothes too. The orange dress of course. I like the blue courderoy jacket and v-neck sweater and scarf she is wearing just before she and Paul take off for Paris. This film has some very funny moments.

Thats awful. I know he had heart surgery several years ago. Hope he gets well soon. I'd love to known the story about the knee problems in connection to the Rockford Files.

Cary Grant is my idol. Great great actor. Its hard to say which of his fims are my favorite. I have the same trouble with Doris's North by Northwest I think is my favorite of his. It may be my favorite movie ever period. Indiscreet Charade I love the Bishop's Wife. I watch it every Christmas Eve.

Re: The Glass Bottom Boat

Great movie. She has a more natural outdoorsie look and this is the first time I can recall being able to see her freckles in a 1960's film. Loved Mable and Norman. Alice Pearce was wonderful. This movie worked well on so many levels.

It was a good segment. It wasn't too much about the book, although it was mentioned. It was more than a PR segment. I thought it was well done.

Re: Best Doris Day Hat?

I loved the light blue hat she wore in WSYGE at the graduation and when she married Jake. The black fox hat in Pillow Talk (where she meets with the guy at the phone company) White hat with Polka dot lining from Caprice was cute I agree that her best hats were in the TV series. I love the yellow rai...

Re: cbs news sunday morning - possible DD segment

I might have to watch. Is it a PR thing for the new book? I'm guessing yes. I worked in public relations and worked for a firm that specialized in authors, so if I sound a little cynical, thats the reason. But, anytime anyone mentions Doris on TV, I make every effort to catch it.

Re: Story behind the photo

Wasn't this after her show came to an end maybe 1973 or 1974. (Her dress looks like one of the ones she wore in the last season of her series) Anyway, didn't she reluctantly agree to fly to England with Jaqueline Suzanne, who I think was writing a new book, or promoting a new book at the time? These...

Re: What movie did Miss Day have best hairdo

Just to be different - I personally like it long as she had it in the TV shows at times and in real life for a while. I think it makes her even more beautiful (if that's possible!) But getting back to the question - the movies I liked her hair best in were Midnight Lace (when it was down and flicke...

Re: What movie did Miss Day have best hairdo

Doris is a beautiful woman. I liked her hair best in Midnight Lace , Julie, Pillow Talk and many of her other films. I don't think that her hair cuts in Romance on the High Seas , Tea for Two or LOB were as flattering, but I love those films just the same. WSYGE, I didn't like the dark roots, but I...

Re: A discussion about the show

To me, the Doris Day Show was a proof of what Doris is : a wonderful person, capable of standing up to so many sad moments in her life, and being a true profesional , every time I watch an episode, specially the first series , I marwell what a true actress she is. Marti. Yes indeed. And given the g...

I'm enjoying this book but I'm going to take issue with her story about taking Doris to lunch and coaxing her to say "hello" to Diana Ross. That had to be when they were filming the DD show yet I've seen a picture of DR visiting DD on the film set of "Ballad of Josie" in 1967. So they already "knew...

Re: Rare Pictures

Doris did look a bit heavier in LMOLM -- but I would say voluptuous. It amazes me how at times, especially in her tv series, she looked incredibly thin, as in the time she was dancing with the Duke. In her 1975 TV special in one of the opening numbers dancing side by side with John Denver, Rich Lit...

This movie was wonderful. I rated it excellent. I have a few favorite scenes. One is during the shooting of Beverly's first commercial. Re: The Graduate

I think Doris would have played the part her own way and made it her own, but I admire her for sticking to her beleifs and principles and knowing what was right for her by turning down the part. That's one of the many aspects of Doris Day that is so winning. She's honest.
