I watched this with Marion yesterday and thought it wasn't so good ...have to say I was a bit bored ... I definitely liked the first one ON MOONLIGHT BAY better - okay it h...

Re: The Ballad of Josie

I gave this a good for three reasons 1. It stars Doris Day 2. It's a western 3. It's co-star is Matt Dillon's little brother. Good looking in his own right. I didn't know about Nr. 3 - and I still haven't found Elizabeth Fraser in it *but* I'm glad finally someone who likes this movie again - I do ...

Re: Films that Never Were

Doris in MURDER SHE WROTE ??? hmmm....I agree with mikeydv - I think that was made for Angela Lansbury. I used to love that show when I was young. It was one of my favorite shows. SOUND OF MUSIC - yeah I could see Doris do that although I love Julie Andrews in it too. I'm not so mad about the whole ...

HA I found this thread ... Yup - I think THAT's the same in EVERY country - politicians promise you the WORLD during the elections and then - after they are elected they don't keep a one of them  If there were elections in Germany right now - I wouldn't know what to vote for - I WOULD NOT KNOW!! Re: Politics

Megan, we're not hearing that in California either, so it's not just foreign countries. So maybe it's just over here... Maybe us over here are the only ones hearing it. If I had some of my friends post over here, they'd tell you the same thing. That seems like all people are worried about, over her...

Re: The Thrill of it All

So true, Rum. Boy, how I hate Beverly's husband, he has such an old-fashioned attitude about women working. That's one of the reasons I don't particularly like this movie. Well those were the "good old day" I like the film overall ... a lot of cute and funny scenes - but I definitely don't l...

Re: That Touch of Mink

Well, I *usually* do like that kind of movie - but this is somehow an exception ... I can't really put a finger on why but I know this movie FOREVER and I never have liked it and I guess I never will. Which is to bad cause I love both - Doris and Cary Grant. I wish they had done another 1 to 10 movi...

Re: That Touch of Mink

I agree with Megan. Without Doris, Cary would have been pretty boring even if he had played opposite of Audrey or Grace. I agree - I don't think he had all that much fun with the picture - don't know .. he kinda looks bored to me - not very much ala Cary Grant .. part of the reason I don't like the...

Re: Politics

Another thing about the religious right political segment which I find hypocritical is their attitude toward one of God's greatest creations: the earth. You'd think they'd WANT to protect and nurture God's work. But to them it's all about protecting and nurturing the corporations which are raping, ...

I know this is a very critical subject but I have to say I absolutely agree with Marion on that one - while watching Palins interview with Katie Couric the other day I couldn't help but laughing - I couldn't take her at all serious. And the thought of her being the next President (and there is a VE...

Well, I also would have liked her as a president, but I honestly don't think that she would have been capable to step out of the light and be a loyal vice president... It might have been her decision not to become Vice-President sure - she might not have wanted the job. I still think it was a mista...

Why did Obama not choose Hilary for VP, I wonder? I can understand why people like/dislike her - I've felt both. But wouldn't it be better than two men is suits again?
