Re: British actress Deborah Kerr dies at 86

Oh - I hadn't seen that thread before.
Deborah Kerr is one of my favorite actresses - I was totally sadened when she died last year. I've always loved her and her movies. Although I wouldn't really compare her style to Doris - I think they are BOTH classy in different ways. She was a wonderful lady!

Re: Politics

Mary Anne you are a breath of fresh air. I don't know why people think Obama is going to do great things for the country. Tax cut for the middle class. With want. He really wants to redistribute the wealth, make no mistake about. I don't think he really cares about this country. Just his own agenda...

Re: Politics

Please stop thinking in those "God bless America" ways ... God needs to bless the whole world! True in a way but I don't think that any god could take us out of that mess we're in. There's a reason why this so-called god of yours put people on this planet so they can in live in peace and harmony. T...

Re: Politics

I don't want to get into all this to much in here (not on a Doris Forum anyway) but I have to say I *absolutely* agree with Domi and Marion .... America is in a huge mess right now on so many levels (and it seems we are right there as well) - it's time that all countries work together to get us out ...

Re: Lucky Me

Well, Marion practically forced me (in a nice way) to watch that movie yesterday. I didn't like "Tea for Two" all that much and I thought this would be the same way so I needed a little pushing ... *but* I was wrong. I was again pleasantly surprised!I LIKED IT!!!!. I think I liked it more than Mario...

Hitchcock was a *brilliant* director - I don't particular think his movies are "scary" anymore ... except maybe for "Frenzy" - but his movies are brilliant suspense thrillers ... not reachable anymore - different standarts then. I think "Psycho " is absolutely BRILLIANT ... great movie - GREAT. I al...

I know this is a very critical subject but I have to say I absolutely agree with Marion on that one - while watching Palins interview with Katie Couric the other day I couldn't help but laughing - I couldn't take her at all serious. And the thought of her being the next President (and there is a VER...

Maybe they plan a stage play???? Equally horrid I guess (without Doris I mean) but ... there is a lot of that around nowadays of Musical remakes on the stage .. SOUND OF MUSIC, MARY POPPINS, Thouroghly Modern Millie .. all that stuff ... I don't think there is an audience for a movie - all of us who...

I agree with haymarket and puck. I also have always wondered why Gig young never got to play one of doris' leading men, he was darling , very classy and sexy. hmm.... I think I'd ask her to sing "Somewhere over the rainbow" then "Three coins in a fountain" ... "Heart full of love" and then I'd quietly ask for "Que Sera Sera" but I'd tell her that she doesn't have to if she's sick of singing it  ... and as an extra at the end I'd ask her to bring John...
