Re: Calamity Jane

Bryan, Anke and I just have a very special relationship :D Sunday we spent 6 hrs on the phone having a DD orgy - We watched Teacher's Pet, an interview, parts of CJ, YMWAH etc. etc. It's fun! (And everybody is complaining that my phone is always busy...) RIGHT!!! *lol* - and we're even ge...

Re: The Tunnel of Love

I don't think this movie is bad - I enjoyed it. I remember watching it when I was younger and I loved it then. Now I think Richard Widmark is absolutely miscast in the movie... I don't think he was much of a "comedy" actor .. but it definitely has a LOT of very cute moments - Gig Young and Elizabeth...

Re: Hi I'm new

I'm sure that's partly cause they HAVE to use English in these countries cause their movies aren't dubbed - they all see the movies in the original version in tv and the cinema with dutch (or whatever) subtitles. Us on the other hand  everything dubbed in German (if you aren't lucky enough to ...

Re: Doris Day: General Discussion

Anke, I have to disagree. I wouldn't want to see Doris being all character acting - playing a little old lady, no matter how good the part [just my opinion]! I see Doris in the kind of roles Lauren Bacall has done in later years - still a little bit of glamour, panache etc and still effective! I th...

I haven't seen Ladies in Lavender yet. I keep meaning to. I love both of the Dames. Maggie Smith is one of my all-time favorite actresses. LiL is really a wonderful little movie - I like it too. I absolutely love both ladies too - they are just GRAND on the stage as well - *GREAT* actresses!!! :D T...

Re: Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?

I didn't "hate" it - but I didn't care for it very much either. I suppose if Doris wouldn't have been in it I'd have stopped watching after 10 minutes - I didn't think it was funny at all and the end was pretty stupid  I think that's the worst of the movies I've seen with her :?

Re: Love Me or Leave Me

No need to apologize Mike - everyone is entitled to their own opinion especially what is classified as music taste (actually the same goes for movies I guess). Who is to judge that this or that music is trash and the other isn't? I think its all a matter of TASTE - that's all. I absolute LOVE many o...

OH, I didn't wanna start any discussion about music taste in here - and I certainly don't wanna argue about it. I don't think you *can* really argue about good or "trash" music. .. I just think to each his own  But I do think the more I listen to the songs the more I like some of those I didn'...
