Re: Films that Never Were

I saw White Christmas last weekend at one of the local non-chain theaters. Doris Day would have been perfect for the role of "Judy" that was played by Vera-Ellen. Miss Day could have also done all her own singing. I've read Vera-Ellen's songs were voiced by another person.

Re: Authentic Autographs

I agree that it was probably written on the fly and not carefully at a desk or something. Here is a similar signature on a check that is currently on eBay. http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=352316&image=78493032&images=78493032&formats=0&format=0 (I hope this posts OK, I'm at wo...

I've been seeing ads this morning that Tony Bennett is going to be on the next episode of Rachael Ray. I'm assuming they mean this coming Monday.

Re: Authentic Autographs

I'm inclined to say that it's authentic. I have bought quite a few of the checks that are occasionally offered on eBay. They not only show the signature but also other examples of the person's handwriting.

Did the seller offer a Certificate of Authenticity?

Re: Films that Never Were

In anticipation of the Broadway revival opening in March, I watched Guys and Dolls today on TCM and thought Doris Day would have made a great Miss Adelaide. And, speaking of the upcoming revival, I also concluded that the casting of Oliver Platt and Lauren Graham as Nathan Detroit and Miss Adelaide ...

My votes would be Garner, Keith and Hudson in that order. Especially Hudson in SMNF. I agree that having the characters married takes a lot of the tension out of the character interaction.

Well, I'm 5'3" so most men are tall to me. But, yes, I believe he was over 6 feet tall. I remember I was standing on the last step down and was just about eye level with him. That's how I got a really good look into those blue eyes.

Lady Be Good is still a cute little movie and there is an awesome dance routine that Eleanor Powell does with a terrier.

I can't add much more than has already been said. I think this is a very classy, snappy movie. I got lucky last week on vacation, it was raining one morning and AMC showed this picture, just after showing Lover Come Back. I also realized that we had three TVs in our condo and all three had this movi...

Suzie, Am I to assume I've found a fellow golfer? I do feel very lucky to have gotten tickets again so soon. After years of applying I got tickets in 2002, then didn't get any again until this year and got tickets for two days. Because of this I was very, very surprised when I went to the mailbox in...

I met Edward Mulhare when he was in the touring company of My Fair Lady. When I picked up my ticket I asked if there was a chance to meet Mr Mulhare. The woman in the booth said she'd check and I should stop by the ticket booth the night of the performance. I did and nearly fell over when she told m...

I'd love to be able to go but I will be celebrating Doris' and my birthday in Pinehurst, South Carolina before leaving Pinehurst on the 5th to go to the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia on the 6th. I can't believe I scored tickets to the Masters two years in a row. :D

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been on vacation since the 9th and just got back this evening. I managed to get online once but the connection was so weak I didn't stay on very long.

Anyhow, the quote isn't from Silvery Moon but the movie is from the 50s.
