Seeking A Particular Doris YouTube Clip - If It Exists !!!!!
Hello ! Its been awhile since I last participated in this forum.....frankly I did not want to become too tiresome as I do tend to 'run off' with my mouth quite a bit !!!! Yet I am heartened to see the website looking increasingly more attractive......Webmaster Bryan - do you magnificent work.....

Re: Barry Comden, DD's fourth husband dead at 74
Might be a great time for Doris to write another book in her own words. What a lady this woman is - plain and simply, quite a gal. She certainly is quite a gal ! I am not so certain however that she would want to write another book at this stage in her life.......she gave up giving interviews to th...

Re: My Doris Day Autographs
I just hope she enjoys having those precious photos of my beautiful kitty cat ! Cream Puff is a gem ! She is 75 % white in color and the remainder is black. Her face resembles one of those Venetian Carnival Masks....black on the top and including her nose and the mouth is white and there are black c...

Re: My Doris Day Autographs
A few months ago, I adopted a most beautiful kitten from the Humane Society. Of course, I took some snapshots and mailed them with a letter to Miss Day. I did not hear back from her but I did have a return address on my letter and apparently the letter did not bounce as the Post Office would have re...

If I'm lucky... Haven't seen the movie and would like to. But love the song. Howard, how do you like the version by Melody Gardot, recorded in 2010 ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUkEOsfkU7E The movie IF IM LUCKY is available....along with 3 other films in which Perry Como participated...on DVD a...

Re: Jane Russell has died
I was a big Jane Russell fan. Yes, she did have a good singing voice - enjoyed hearing it in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," and "The French Line." She was sexy, alright, but she had a down-to-earth quality that was hard to resist. In fact, when I saw "Gentlemen," I was drawn more towards her than to M...

Re: Elizabeth Taylor has Passed Away
It's so cool you know so much about the classic movie stars! I'm a huge fan of Veronica Lake! Do you or anyone else know her work? Veronica Lake was the 'peek-a-boo' girl from the 1940's......very famous in her time but ultimately led a horrendous life in which poverty prevailed, her looks faded dr...

Re: Jane Russell has died
Jane Russell was a very talented lady. It's always so hard to lose someone we have watched for so many years. She will very much be missed. Of all the 'sultry ladies' of Hollywood.....I liked her the best because she was always earthy and did not take herself seriously. She was totally professional...

Re: Elizabeth Taylor has Passed Away
I understand what TCMmoviefan is talking about. Farah Fawcett died the same day Michael Jackson died. I know both had a very different kind of fame but the media forgetting about Farah Fawcett was sinful!!! Totally agreed ! I very well remembered----I think it was around 1977 if I am not mistaken b...

This is all very well and good but...........this year the world also lost BETTY GARRETT & JANE RUSSELL to name but two 'biggies'......but the biggest fuss has been made about Liz ! Re: Elizabeth Taylor has Passed Away
It was sad to hear the news as its the end of a golden era. I was never a fan of LA LIZ however. After awhile, all the media attention she was receiving became a joke and it was tough for me take her seriously. Obviously fame and fortune cannot buy everything and that was definitely true about LIZ. ...

Most saddened at the passing of MISS JANE RUSSELL ! I was always a great fan of hers......loved her excellent work in GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES which she practically stole the show away from Marilyn Monroe....sorry folks but thats the way I feel. Jane was a sparkling comedienne and a fine singer in ...

Re: Small Talk: General Discussion 2
I agree-for the most part, classics should be left alone! Saw the last half of New York-New York recently-what are the views on this? Was it really based around Doris' autobiography?- Singer/ abusive musician husband; little boy; split; superstardom? Yes NY, NY was largely based on Doris' first mar...

Re: Small Talk: General Discussion 2
I don't understand why people keep wanting to make remakes. I think it would be far better if a whole new musical was created for movies. It happens at least sometimes on Broadway. I would really love to see that. A movie with new songs and new actors. It's just my opinion but I feel that people ar...

THE GLASS BOTTOM BOAT when it had first been released in 1966. I even remember where I saw it. I was 7 years of age...and the place was the WINDHAM MOVIE THEATER in Windham, NY which also happens to be the hometown of cartoonist SCOTT ADAMS of DILBERT fame. Windham is a small rural town in upstate ...

Hello Jolt !
The best way to contact DD for a response is to email her through her Animal League Website. I did and within 2 weeks received a very nice autographed photograph from her.
Just go to www.ddaf.org and contact her through there !
Best Of Luck !

Does Anyone Know of An OPERA CD Collector ?
This is probably a very odd request for a DD Forum but since it is under an OFF TOPICS thread then I figured it would be OK. Does anyone know of an OPERA CD Collector ? Someone who has a massive library of very rare opera CDS ? Mainly hard-to-find recordings from the 1930's to the 70's ? A few years...

Re: Do You like BOBBY VINTON???
I like the Bobby Vinton repertory of songs but I never cared much for the thin tonal quality of his voice. I am glad to hear that he is still very much active in the business though he (and others from his generation) are hardly ever seen on US Television.
