I came across something on you tube that you might enjoy. It's Harvey Brownstone interviewing
Tom Santopietro, author of "Considering Doris Day." As I recall, it was about 40 minutes long.
I found it to be quite interesting and informative.

Thank you so much Renie for sharing the link on the Tom Santopietro interview about Doris Day. It is a true joy to listen to observations and confirm Doris' as the greatest female box office star in Hollywood History.

I loved how he said Doris referred to her fans as friends and always tried to answer her mail personally.

It is striking how humble Doris was about her talent. I also like how Tom described Doris as a genuinely nice person. He mentioned the only other actress that was as nice was Audrey Hepburn.

I truly enjoyed every minute of the interview. I hope Tom Santopietro's next book is about Audrey Hepburn.

I will listen to the interview again. They are so many pearls to appreciate.

My purchases from the Doris Day Animal Foundation store arrived promptly this week. I ordered :

the book Doris Day’s Best Friends
the CD Doris Day -Early Days - 1939-1950
2 DVD’s - Celebrating Doris
- Forever Doris

Centennial Birthday Doris Pewter Angel Pin -1922-2022- Inscribed:
“In Our Hearts Forever”

The Angel pin is exquisite. It is a perfect tribute.

The book has a lovely foreword written by Betty White. There are wonderful photos of Doris with her favourite dogs during her lifetime and other photos of animals she championed. The book is a genuine tribute to Doris’ animal advocacy.

I will follow up with more posts after listening to the CD and watching the DVDS.

I am delighted that the Doris Day Animal Foundation now provides international shipping. I highly recommend a visit to website store DDAF.org

Thank you Peter. It is wonderful to hear from you. I think I have found you on Instagram and am following. If it is not you, the person is a great Doris Day fan.

I have watched the two DVDs Celebrating Doris and Doris Forever. I enjoyed all the interviews from Doris' co- stars. It is wonderful to hear from all the children (who are adults now) and their endearing memories in working with Doris. I was particularly touched by the interview with Teddy Quinn who played Doris' son in The Ballad of Josie.

The DVDs were well over two hours each. There are over fifteen entertaining different co-star interviews on each DVD.

I also bought two DDAF caps and wear them proudly.

It is a wonderful feeling to know all the proceeds go to the Doris Day Animal Foundation.

August 10th is the first anniversary of Bryan's passing. I will write a tribute under the Let Us Remember topic. It is difficult to believe a year has passed.

Take good care.

Hi Johnny,

Thanks for your reply and your tribute to Bryan. So sad that he passed, and yes it's a year now. Time flies, even if you haven't had fun... I'm glad the forum is still around and to see a few posts on it. Hope more people will join it soon again. Share your stories, photo's, music, "new releases" it will be Doris 100th birthday soon... So we have to keep her legacy alive. She deserves that!

Greetings,

Peter

So pleased to see yours and Peter's posts on keeping the Doris Day Forum active.

Peter's photos of Doris are often new to me and wonderful day brighteners.

With Doris's 100th birthday coming in April , I am sure there is more ch news to celebrate and share.

It is my wish as well that more DD Forum members keep posting. Doris has given much to our world and it is our opportunity to continue to celebrate her life.☀️🌻🇨🇦☮️

Thinking about Doris Day's 100th birthday on April 3-2022, I am wondering if any special tributes are being organized.

Peter mentioned the new book being published in January 22-2022, Doris Day - Images of a Hollywood Icon.

It would be fitting if the United States post office issued a stamp honouring Doris. Does anyone know if this is in the works?

I would appreciate any information from DD Forum members on any special events being planned.

Hello Everyone,

I haven't posted in a long time due to password issues but today I managed to log-on successfully. The other reason for my absence is that I miss Bryan and the forum isn't the same without him. But going forward, I will post occasionally in the spirit of keeping Doris's legacy alive and honoring Bryan's legacy too.

To my knowledge, the DDAF hasn't announced anything regarding Doris's 100th birthday. I feel sure they will do something but so far there has been no official announcement.

I had hoped Turner Classic Films would make her the centerpiece at their annual film festival next April, but the only Doris Day film in their line-up is Pajama Game. This strikes me as a huge miss because featuring some of Doris's best films in fully restored versions with clean prints, color correction, and improved sound would have been a huge draw. Imagine how powerful it would be to view a fully restored version of Love Me Or Leave Me, as one example, at Grauman's Chinese Theater where Doris placed her hand and foot prints 60 years ago. Instead, their showcase film will be a fully restored print of Giant starring Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean.

The 2022 Doris Day Calendar is available at Doris Day Tribute.com. Stephen Munns always does a great job on these.

I wish everyone good health and happiness as we approach the holiday season.

Until next time,
Michael

Hi Michael,

.It is wonderful to see you back of the DD Forum .I was thinking about messaging you on Instagram to ask about any Doris Day 100th birthday celebrations.

I am wondering if the United States Post Office would issue a stamp in Doris Day's honour. How are these decisions made?

I agree that the DD Forum feels different with Doris and Bryan gone . I check the forum each week. and discovered news updates from Peter . I was really happy to see (thanks to Peter), there is a new photo book called Doris Day - Images of a Hollywood Icon that will be available in Canada January 22-2022.(Photographs From Her Private Collection)... There is also a new book on Doris being published in Germany.

I will post any news on birthday tributes that I find. TCM may respond to written requests to adjust their schedule to pay tribute to Doris. I will certainly write them to inquire.

I want to wish you Michael a happy holiday season for you and your family .
Take good care.
Johnny
