Back in 1980, I, along with hundreds of fans world wide, received the following letter from Doris Day. So, 28 years later, she is still fighting the battle of yellow journalism!

That was a great letter Mike. We all know that Doris is doing well and has been for many years. People believe what they want and I will tell your first hand, she is doing fine and looks great too.

Thanks for sharing,

Maybe the second part will come through.

Carol

Well, the vegetarian part changed anyway. I always wondered where that statement about her began, and now I know.

Very interesting. And see, if you have a beautiful home and decent acreage, who wouldn't want to spend time there? I would. Interesting about the vegetarian part, though I beleive you can love animals and still enjoy a hamburger or roast turkey on Christmas and or Thanksgiving (for those of us who are Americans) I think its hard to sustain a vegetarian diet for a long period.

Just had a thought. Do you think all these articles (and faked pics) are from the SAME would-be journalist...at it for 28 years, and still at it??

I think there are many of them out there Mike, although maybe it is the same one for Doris. Many years ago there were several of these tabloid journalist on a talk show. Several of them said they use people who look like the stars because they don't always have photos of a particular event. The Enquirer claims they use two sources (don't have to be reliable, just two sources). Anyone who collects these articles will tell you that they frequently recycle the same article. Sometimes it's true, but maybe it happened 8 years ago. They don't care who they hurt. I watched biographies were celebrities claim the tabloids have destroyed their lives, careers, marriages, relationships and effected custody battles. At least this hasn't happened to Doris.
