Doris usually looks better in colour - she's a Technicolor kind of gal - but she can also look great in black and white.

I've forgotten what my point was now - just watching the end-of-day reports on the Olympics - I'm not normally a big sports fan but I have enjoyed the spectacle and happy that it shows this part of the world in such a positive light. It's a bit like taking a bit of pride in your country without becoming a nationalist.

I don't know why Photobucket deletes their image sometimes, it happens a lot when you upload with them.
But I didn't remove it, hope most of you got to see the black and white photo you ask to see. Photobucket your own my bad list. :x

Same here re: the Olympics. Kudos to Danny Boyle and Stephen Daldry for a rousing opener.

Cameron has just said how much he enjoyed the opening and how much it represented the people from these parts, even though it might not be understood in some parts of the world - which is a snub to one of his MPs who said it was a load of leftie BS. Lots of Americans being interviewed about their experience of the event, - many others from different countries also - saying how great the atmosphere was, how friendly everyone was, etc.

People saying why can't we use all this talent to sort out the economy? Maybe because we are being told there is no alternative to current policies. But then our great leaders are playing a different game...

No wonder Doris loved England so much! The British adore her as much as we do,if not more, they certainly haven't forgotten her!

What a wonderful surprise to see this lovely (and colorful) and cheerful banner! Thanks for always putting up something different. Love the colors - even though this is a photo no doubt from the LMOLM era - 57 years ago...it really doesn't look that dated. Love it!!!!

As it's the weekend and I have a few hours to relax, I thought I'd do a new banner - just to keep up with the competition :) it was really relaxing to do something that didn't require thinking too much - just feeling:

Some variations - I know Puck, Barbara, etc, do the same thing - always hard to decide which one to use. Which one do you prefer? (assuming you like any) And a round of applause for anyone who knows the original:

Have a great weekend everyone!

Bryan, I think it is unique and different and also a little on the pop Art side, I guess I lean toward the more natural subdue colouring when I paint, although there was one of mine you use that was a little Pop Artsy, The one with the hat, But everyone has there own taste, I know Puck has painted a lot of the Pop Art look also, and it kind of looks like what the movie theaters would use for their poster outside advertising her movies like I said very unique. :D

Thanks very much, both of you. Yes, I like the pop-art look, although I know some don't, or anything resembling a 'cartoon',

The original images is below - you can even see a spot on Doris' face! It doesn't show her to her best advantage, in my opinion. I've gone a bit too far probably but doing it for fun anyway! Under that is a quick Photoshop fix.

I guess I like the very last one you posted the best. YesI like a some of the Pop Art look. You see a lot of it on billboards, and on the big posters outside movie theaters, I guess the trick is do be able to do it and still make it look like the original person, which you have done.
