Bryan - I think the pic is from the Golden Globes 1960- probably when making Midnight Lace. By he premier of Midnight Lace- Doris had had her hair cut again - to the style it was in Lover Come Back (even shorter) - I much prefer the MN look though.

Yes, you're right, Jas - I came across the photo below on the website and it looks like the same event/evening:

Time for a new banner, although the current one is one of my favourites but I've given it a new home here: http://dorisday.net/ Thanks for finding that one for us, Dorine.

if you know which film this is from, don't identify it, just say "I know" - I want to see if people who don't know it can guess. I like this shot, I thought it could be from "Vertigo" or one of those 50s crime dramas.

Not sure which movie, but must be a '40s movie....interesting contrast from the previous one - she looks like a teen in this one (a teen from the '40s) definitely not from today. The vintage ones are nice, but I prefer the ones which are timeless - those which look like they could be from today....somehow when I see DD from the '40s and early '50s movies, they look very dated, but from 'It Happened to Jane" until now (not Josie or Jumbo) you would never know they were many decades old. Just my thoughts....nice to see each banner.

Ha! fixed it! Love this pic, love to see the black and white of it too. Awesome job I think Doris looks timeless here in this photo, but it does have that film noir look to it, especially if it was in sepia or black and white!

I might be in the minority here, but I think she was just adorable with her longer hair. This is one of my favorite movies of hers as well.

Bryan~
Wonderful work on your part. I love this movie. Love the music. Love the way she walked down the steps in this scene and then stopped and turned around and rolled her eyes. Love the 40s.

Thanks Bry,
Lauren

Love the banners Bryan, and I love this movie. Was Doris second movie. My favorite part is when she sings Cutting Capers in the record room and Jack Carson (Doug) discovers her . I remember painting a little picture of this scene a long time ago. Sorry I just now noticed you had already posted the video. Took mine down.

I love this film, and the 40s as well Lauren. Bryan, great job, loved the video clip. It's one of my favorite films of Doris, sort of like biopic loosely based on her early start in Hollywood.

Thanks for the little snippet. It's so cute. Hard to believe what all D. had accomplished in her life in only 24-25 years.
