Does anyone know what Doris is doing in the photo above? I think that might be a movie magazine story - "The Heck with Glamor" and the little boy might be Terry, but what is she doing up in the air there?

That's what I meant earlier. Looks like Doris was on a trampoline, Lauren.

Thanks for clearing that up, Dorine.

We won't go into all the awful stuff that's gone on in Boston here (off topic) but I just want to say I'm glad it's over (wall-to-wall news coverage over here).

Here's a little teaser to take your mind off it - name the Doris Day film in this disguised image:

No need to hold back this time and I'll upload the undisguised image tomorrow.

Paul, that is such a definative answer that I have temporarily removed it!

Yes, you are correct but I had hoped that the guessing game would have a little longer to run! I just wanted to see if people would recognise it.

Will replace your text a little later!

Thank you. :)

It looks like Paul was the only one to recognise the film:

Lovely banner Bryan from "It's a Great Feeling", Miss Day's third film.

When I moved to Los Angeles in 1990 there was a great revival movie house on Wilshire called The Vagabond. I considered it a good sign that the first double feature that played after the move was "It's a Great Feeling" coupled with MGM's 1950's remake of "The Student Prince" featuring the voice but not the body of Mario Lanza.

They advertised "Feeling" as being a restored Technicolor print and indeed it was. The masses turned out to see it and headed out the door just as quickly when it was over, leaving barely a handful for the second feature proving that even in 1990 Miss Day was "The Draw".

In it she sings what I feel is one of the three or four best songs she ever sang at Warners - "Blame My Absentminded Heart".

Hi all,

It's because Doris playes mrs. Jack Carson to get Dennis Morgan in the film Jack Carson produces: Madame Fifi. Jack hires Judy Adams (Doris Day) just seen as a waitress as his secret wife. This Mrs. Carson tells Dennis Morgan that Jack is broke and that they need the money for their family home. For the extra effect Doris/Judy is wearing black and telling Dennis that she's pregnant. Jack is outside Dennis Morgans dressingroom hanging in a tree to listen to Dennis' reaction. When Dennis says yes, Jack sends a messenger boy to get the contract signed. That's a funny part of this film. I hate the eye thing Doris does in this picture, but there are some funny moments in it.

Greetings,

P

Thanks Barbara - she does, doesn't she? I'm enjoying featuring her early films - I found these screen captures online - all in colour so not much for you and Puck to do but I have some B&W images of "I'll See You in My Dreams" which might be good to do next, that I can send to you and Puck.
