i love the first 3 films of Doris's! Thanks for revisiting them Bryan! The scene where she slips and loses her wig is so adorable, love the expression and woozy look on her face! and the french accent is priceless!
Re: Forum Banners 2013

Re: Forum Banners 2013
Wonderful bride, but the groom seems a little odd, expression wise, knowing what kind of rolls Erol Flynn played,I must say I am so surprised to see him in a movie with Doris...

You probably know, like Doris, he was under contract to Warners at the time, so it was just a case of getting him to do that one scene.

"Doris Day writes in her autobiography that she only encountered trouble or tension on two of her Warner Bros. films, "Young at Heart" and "April in Paris". On "Paris", she writes that leading man Ray Bolger and director David Butler clashed early on, with Butler accusing Bolger of trying to steal scenes away from Day. Doris says that, being a relative newcomer to films, she was unaware of Bolger's tricks and managed to stay out of the line of fire." - IMDB

Great colours in the latest April in Paris banner.
Re: Forum Banners 2013
Sounds just like what the old Scare Crowe would do, that is the part he played in the Wizard of Oz isn't it?
Never understood why WB cast him to play Doris leading man. Gene Nelson would have been perfect for the part.

Re: Forum Banners 2013
April in paris is a great movie to watch on a rainy day. Doris day does a splendid job here, but the true star is Ray Bolger, who makes a fantastic co-star, and is really quite a handsome fellow...definitely my favorite in this film!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044370/This picture was made when Doris Day was "Doris Day", that fresh-faced, delightful blond singer who lit up the screen with her beautiful smile and glorious singing.
"April in Paris", directed by David Butler was a colorful, joyous romp for Doris Day and Ray Bolger. Mr. Bolger has been criticized for not being a suitable co-star for Miss Day, but I felt he did a credible job in the picture. No, he was not handsome, like Rock Hudson, but Rock couldn't DANCE like Bolger!
