Great job! Doris is radiant and just sparkles in this banner (and role of a lifetime).

Here's one from Barbara - I made a slight change of colour, hope that's okay, Barbara:

This is my absolute favorite. Love the banner and the color change!

Re: Forum Banners 2014
Yes Bryan, I do like the way you change the color. The reason I went with the sepia color, was the movie base on the life of Ruth Etting, goes back to when she was popular in the late twenties and thirties.
But the way you changed it looks so much better and still stays in keeping with that old look I was going for.
Love this movie, and Doris turns out an Oscar winning performance, proving she could do a dramatic role.
So glad Cagney requested her to play this part. They both knocked it out of the park in their performance. This is a picture of the real Ruth Etting.

Also, if you want to read a little about her life, you can check out this article, and also hear a little bit of her singing.

Re: Forum Banners 2014
Thank you all - everyone works hard on the banners so your encouragement helps a lot - as do all the images you post and the comments you make.
I was looking at the LMOLM page on my classic films website, Michael Hadley did a great job on that (he's got another film, "Leave Her To Heaven", one of my favourite 'film noirs', coming very soon) and I loved Paul Brogan's review - just read the closing paragraphs and you'll want to read more:
We're a bit like The Doris Day A Team when we are all working together, aren't we?

http://classicfilmsreloaded.com/love-me ... ve-me.htmlDoris Day gives a tour de force performance as Etting. It's a Doris Day that we've never seen before and the heartbreaking reality that she brings to ever scene is unforgettable. Vocally, she sings with passion and style, dazzling with such song classics as "Shakin the Blues Away", "Ten Cents a Dance" and "You Made Me Love You", and the Oscar nominated, "I'll Never Stop Loving You". However, it is her rendition of "It All Depends on You", accompanied by only a piano, in which she creates a lasting image. To those who have never really listened to her voice. her range, phrasing, breath control and tonal quality, not to mention the feeling that she puts into a song, will make them easily become admirers of what may be one of the finest female pop voices in music history.
James Cagney is nothing short of outstanding as Marty Snyder and his scenes with Day crackle with intensity. Cameron Mitchell as Johnny, the man Ruth loves, is also fine and MGM has spared no expense in making this a production of the highest calibre. It's a film for the ages!"

Re: Forum Banners 2014
Bryan, I am so glad you left the link to read more about some of the scenes and the pictures from this movie.
I had already read where Cagney had asked the director to let him do a real slap across the face, and not to tell Doris ahead of time, so they could capture the real shock look on her face when he did, and he said it worked out just the way he thought it would.
Afterwards the director comes over and kisses Doris on her cheek. While Cagney stands in the background smiling real big. But that slap big boy causes you to lose your girl. Ruth left him that night.

Love this movie. Superb acting on both Doris and James Part. So glad she made this movie and proved to the world she could do dramatic acting.
