Thank you for this banner. You can see that Doris is lost in thought and the suspense and serious nature that they find thenselves in. I love this wonderful suspense filled thriller of a film.

This is the first DD autographed photo I ever received. I sent the photo to Martin Melcher with a glowing review of the preview audience's reaction to "Where Were You When the Lights Went Out." (They really did like it ... go figga?). This is a promo shot for "Glass Bottom Boat." Needless to say, I Iove it!

Like this look of Doris's from her film career. Jas you don't care for the early 50's do? That was chic at the time.

Beautiful banner - great work Puck. No Ray, I [like Howard and the lady herself] cannot stand the hair do from 1949-52- though you can't take away those eyes, teeth, smile, figure...etc. etc...no matter what the era!

Jas what was the 1952 hairdo and on. She had the short do middle to late fifties. I still like the page boy do from 1966 until always. It suits her,

Ray- the hairstyle from '49-52 was the very short do - seen in films such as Tea for Two, Lullaby etc.

1952 - Doris' hair grew longer- e.g. the longer style of April in Paris.

1953 - getting longer- a la Calamity - and I loved that look.

1954 - for short time- the Lucky Me style.

1954-58 - the short D/A style of Young at heart/ getting longer on top by Pajama Game/Teacher's Pet [this is my fav DD look].

1958 - short period of a style I don't care for either - a la - Tunnel of Love [though bits of this she still has her Young at Heart do]/ and It happened to Jane.

1959 onwards - the hair gets very stylised - and fabulous in films such as Pillow Talk, Daisies, Midnight Lace etc and on right through fabulous styles in Touch of Mink, Thrill of it all/ Do not Disturb [I won't mention Move over Darling...].

The dutch bob of the current banner- from 1966 onwards [sometimes longer as in the series] was also a fabulous look for Doris.

I love the fact that Doris with her look [hair/clothes etc.] moved with the time and did not become stuck in the time/era of her biggest success [I think this happened to Lana Turner who, while stunning, failed to properly move with the times and hence looked much older than her age - from the 1960s onwards [and she was only slightly older that DD].

I agree with you Jas about The Pajama Game style being one of the best - but I also like some of the shorter, earlier styles, as seen above.

Beautiful banner Barbara.

Ray- this is the longer 1952 style [i.e. longer than the really short do of e.g. Storm Warning].

Such rich colors in this one from Barbara. Love the way you emphasized her cheekbones and how the pink in her cheeks pick-up the darker red hues in her lips and sweater. Ditto the shade of blue on her eyes against the blue drapery in the background. Well done!

Thanks, Barbara.

I came across the above artwork by a person named Candacew on a website called Affinity: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/ and was very struck by it.

I contacted Candacew and asked if I could share it on the forum and this was the reply I received back:
"Yes, certainly! I am flattered. I have always loved Doris Day, and I am delighted to learn of your forum and I will check it out!"
So I hope you will join me in saying a big Thank You - and hope you like it as much as I do. :)
