Something more unique than that.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
I just found something very sad that they apparently had in common. They all had a child that pre-deceased them.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
An Doris, nor Gordon MacRae, Zsa Gabor or Kirk Douglas not they received the Academy Award for none of his film roles I think again the wrong answer, because Kirk Douglas received an honorary Oscar

The only thing I can think of is that they all made films for Warner Bros.

You're very close, Alan, you just need to spell it out a little more!

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
They all lost money through bad investments with Rosenthal??
Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Yes, correct!
Or, as I was going to put it, They all lost a lot of money through Martin Melcher's bad investments. I think he was the one who actually persuaded them to invest - with Rosenthal's crooked schemes being the method - and him being the main crook - with Marty being his gullible over-impressed prodigy.
Your turn, Alan!

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
I would have never guessed that last one in a million years!
Remember "Put 'em in a Box, Tie It With a Ribbon" from Romance on the High Seas? Which other Doris Day movie can you hear it in?

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Yay!!! Glad to be a winner! I would have expanded further about Rosenthal but didn't want to upset the apple cart. By "your turn now" I guess you mean I have to pose a question?? Well, I'll give a relatively easy one:- In what film did two of Doris's family members appear? Also who else appeared in this same film that worked very closely with Doris off screen??? Yeah, I know..... too easy, but it still might be interesting news to some newcomers to DD Forum.

It Happened To Jane. Terry and Alma were in it briefly.

Was it Jack Lemmon? Who did some music coaching from Doris.

What flick had Doris watching her own movie in the audience?

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Alan, as to the second part of your question (re: It Happened to Jane), Mary Wickes was also in that film. Don't know if she "worked closely" with Doris off-screen, but they were certainly good friends -- in fact, Wickes's biographer noted that the only two female stars with whom she had a "genuinely close relationship" were Lucille Ball and Doris.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
It appears that my last quiz question, which I posted yesterday, got lost in the shuffle. So, here it is again.
Remember "Put 'em in a Box, Tie It With a Ribbon" from Romance on the High Seas? Which other Doris Day movie can you hear it in?

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Regarding Ray's question, Doris watched herself in "Caprice" watching a movie called "The Constant Virgin."

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Correct, Doris was watching herself but the movie was Caprice. The song Caprice was heard in the balconey where she was sitting. And showed her outside the movie theatre looking at the movie house sign displaying Caprice with Doris Day and Richard Harris, Clever and never saw that done before.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
I knew my quiz question was an easy one and yes! Alam & Terry did appear. As to the appearance of the "other" person who worked closely with Doris.... no, not Mary Wickes (yes, she was in it) it was Doris' housekeeper for many years.... Katie.

Texas: "The Constant Virgin" was the name of DD's Broadway play in "Where Were You When the Lights Went Out."
Like Irene Dunne done.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Here comes a new quiz. It is simple, but with ramifications. In one of Doris Day films a doll is part of the story line. In what film did the doll appear, what is the name of this type of doll, what is the composition (body material) and who was the original maker of the doll. The maker's name is usually stamped on the soles of the doll. Happy Days, Texas Gonzalo

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
I think the movie was "On Moonlight Bay" and the doll was a Kewpie Doll made of bisque (porcelein) (sp?).
The original Kewpie Dolls were reportedly designed by a Rose O'Neill and manufactured in Germany.
