Sorry. Not Eve Arden. And it wasn't in My Dream Is Yours. Some hints: It was said by a man in one of Doris' early movies. And, the amount of 25 G's ($25,000 for those not familiar with G's) is also a clue. Money was a frequent topic of conversation in this movie.

Nope. Not "It's a Great Feeling" either. I get the feeling you are determined to find the answers. Another clue. The story takes place, except for the very beginning and the very end, at the time of the big stock market crash. Thus, there's a lot of concern over money.

OK Ray. But in keeping with our new "quiz rules" let's wait and see what we might hear from others.

Thanks, Renie

Bryan:

I can't help but feel that it's possible you never saw this movie. It's ALL about money. Seriously, do you have access to all of DD's films in the UK? And if CD's are made here in the U.S., will they play on your devices there?
I'm curious.

Bryan: I meant to ask if our DVD's would play on your devices, not CD's. Renie

I can convert any DVD, Renie. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here - I think I've watched all her films - except Starlift and I don't remember much about The Winning Team.

I did think about Lullaby of Broadway, which could be set in the depression era - but I don't remember much being said about money. I'll be interested to find out which film it is.

Ray:

I'd like to wait a little longer to see if anyone else wants to weigh In. Following Bryan's lead, I'll post a message letting everyone know they can go ahead and answer. Bear with me, OK?

Thanks for your patience. Whoever knows the answer, speak now or forever hold your peace. And, give us a new quiz question if you have one.

Seems to me that the speaker was Billy DeWolfe in "Tea for Two."

With Valentine's Day having occurred so recently, this question came to mind: Besides Rock Hudson and Louis Jourdan, six of Doris's leading men were married only once and for many, many years in their private lives. Who were they?

The ones who come to mind are Kirk Douglas, Gordon MacRae, Danny Thomas, Ray Bolger, Louis Jourdan, James Cagney, James Stewart, James Garner.
Not sure if they are all right but probably the majority? (hopefully!)

Good work, Bryan -- you got 5 of the 6. Instead of Kirk Douglas, who was the other one?
