Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Ok, off the top of my head - how many years has Doris been married in total - and, if you're good at percentages, what % of her adult life does that amount to?

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
If we're considering from marriage dates to divorce dates (rather than separation dates), then I would say 28 years married: 2 to Jorden, 3 to Weidler, 17 to Melcher, and 6 to Comden. Assuming that adulthood begins at 18 and not 21 and that DD is age 91 now, that would be about 38% of her adult life. Too bad that so many of those years brought such unhappiness.

There you go, an example of an 'easier' question! Your turn.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
OK. Doris was nominated for, but did not win, Golden Globe awards for her performances in a musical, a drama, and 3 comedies. Name the musical, the drama, and at least one of the comedies.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
I think the musical was Jumbo, the drama was Midnight Lace, and one of the comedies was It Happened to Jane. True?

Right on the musical and the drama, Renie -- but guess again on one of the comedies.

You're both right, so why don't you decide between you who poses the next question. (By the way, the 3rd comedy was "Pillow Talk.")

James, we haven't heard much from you on the quiz. Why don't you go ahead and pose the next question? Or let me know if you'd rather not.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Ronald Reagan, if I counted correctly, appeared in 3 films with Doris. Name the films and say what role he played in each.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Since there haven't been any responses to the last quiz question, it's time to call it a day. The answers are:
Ronald Reagan played himself doing a cameo in It's A Great Feeling; he played the county prosecutor in Storm Warning; and he played a famous baseball player, Grover Cleveland Alexander, in The Winning Team.
In view of the fact that we have no winner, the next quiz question is up to whoever wants to submit one.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Just watched "Move Over, Darling" last night and a two-part quiz question occurred to me. In the scene at the hotel swimming pool when Doris and James Garner are waiting for the server to bring their order, an instrumental song is being played in the background. (Doris had a huge hit recording of it early in her solo career.)
1. What's the title of the song?
2. The song has a connection with a member of the film's crew. Identify the connection and the name of the crew member.

Great Question! A real challenge!
I watched several times the scene with Doris and James by the Beverly Hills Hotel pool. I thought the trumpet sound in the background song belonged to Harry James. I wondered if the instrumental song was, I'll See You In My Dreams.
Could the crew member be Hal Kanter?
When the time is right I would love to know the answer.
Thank you

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Good guesses, Johnny. Since the question was posted for quite awhile with no responses until now, I think probably nobody else is going to give it a try. The song in the background is "Again." Lionel Newman wrote the music (not the lyric) in 1948, and he was the music director for the film. I don't know who the soloist was, though.
Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Thanks so much Musiclover. I can relax now. I will try to come up with a good Doris Day music .question .

I will post answer by July 31-2017. I bet someone will have answer. I came across it by accident when I was checking out another film.

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Johnny, thanks for restarting the quiz. Hopefully we can continue the quiz with the same concept you had on the Romance question. I will post a question and give the answer at mid month (August 15) unless someone guesses the answer. If that happens then the winner can pose the next quiz question. Here is the guiz question---In which movie or movies did Doris Day smoke a cigarette?

Re: Doris Day 2015 Quiz
Julie is another movie in which Doris smoked. I have a feeling there are others, especially movies where the characters she played were stressed, speaking as the ex-smoker that I am.
