Thanks so much doris-day-fan for the article on the Doris Day celebration of the filming of It Happened To Jane in Connecticut. This charming and underappreciated well crafted film deserves recognition just as Doris Day does. She is an international treasure.

Thanks again.

I posted the TCM August schedule for Summer Under The Stars (Doris on TCM), focusing on an entire day of films each day for 31 stars.

Sunday, August 12th, there is an entire day of Doris Day films.

Hi all,

Mirian Nelson died.

From: Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF)
Doris and all of us at DDAF mourn the passing of Doris’ treasured longtime friend, dancer/choreographer/director, Miriam Nelson. Miriam, alongside her then husband, Gene Nelson, worked with Doris on “Tea for Two” and “Lullaby of Broadway,” choreographing the dance numbers (including the elaborate staircase dance in the latter) and had a cameo in “Pillow Talk.”

Miriam (or “Mim,” as Doris called her) was a shining light and an uplifting force of nature, with a treasure trove of stories from the glory days of Hollywood. Fans and supporters who attended DDAF’s 2017 Carmel fundraiser where Miriam was a special guest, were not only treated to a sampling of those fascinating experiences, but a tap dance as well—at 97 years old!
Doris and all of us at DDAF will be forever grateful for Miriam’s kindness, generosity and friendship. Our hearts go out to her son Chris and dear friend James, who shared many excellent adventures with her right up to the end.

Yes - RIP Miriam - she had a great life and looked amazing at 97 years old at Doris' birthday the last year.

I heard this previously but someone who lives in Carmel has confirmed that Cafe Stravaganza closed. If you recall, Doris spoke highly of the owner, Harry, and his food on the Magic 63 radio birthday tributes. Several fan gatherings were held there over the years and Harry was always pleasant and friendly. I'm sad to see this wonderful restaurant close after so many years.
