Thanks Michael - nicely put.

Scott's CD arrived yesterday - and I must admit I love it! (I was worried that I might not!) It's a wonderful tribute to the music of Doris Day but it also stands on its own with music from Great American Songbook composers such as Rodgers & Hart, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Sammy Fain.

Apart from Scott's sensitive and creative interpretations of the songs, the band and musical arrangements are fantastic - moving from the big band sounds of swing and jazz to simple vocals with one or two instruments, as on a marvelous interpretation of 'Secret Love'.

If you're a Doris Day fan, it's a real treat and you'll probably be able to hear her version in your memory as you listen. However these are not simply cover versions but rather a fresh treatment that still captures the spirit of the originals.

Take a trip down Memory Lane with a contemporary sound. Recommended for Doris Day fans, and fans of swing, jazz and easy listening. Thanks for a great album, Scott! 8)

I am moved deeply by the kind, thoughtful and respectful article by Liz Smith on Marilyn and Doris. Both Marilyn and Doris not only demonstrated charismatic talent in acting but essential kindness and vulnerability as human beings. Liz Smith is absolutely correct in stating that Doris and Marilyn were truly underappreciated.
She beautifully expressed appreciation for Scott's fine work on his new cd.
Excellent and interesting article.
Thank you.

Thank you all - very much appreciated.

I would like to stay with Scott's CD for awhile as it's just been released and want to give it a good send off.

I hope people who haven't yet heard it will order it and remember it's also a way of supporting the cause that is nearest to Doris' heart as $5 of each sale goes to her charity.

Apart from that, it's a delightful CD that you can transfer to your phone or computer and and also makes for relaxing background music if you have friends over or if, like me, you like to play music when you tidy up your nest or do something else. :) Rather like the different uses you can put Doris' music to.

Thanks again!

Came across this on YouTube:

WOW! What a wonderful video you've put together. I was lucky enough to be there on opening night, and it truly was a night to remember. Scott, you held the audience in the palm of your hands thanks to your great singing talent, and wonderful way with a Doris-related story. This video is a delight! Can't wait to purchase your tribute cd to DD!

This video is simply wonderful! So great to see folks like Christopher Olsen, Kym Karath, Teddy Quinn and Brian Nash - who were Doris' "kids" in the movies! And Miriam Nelson is such a treat to see - as well as Jackie Joseph, Susan Olsen and Jo Anne Worley! So great, Scott, that your show was for the benefit of DDAF! Would like to catch your show someday if it makes it to the East Coast - or perhaps I will get to the West Coast! Great job!!

How fun is this! I saw Scott's show at 54 Below in NYC, and it was wonderful! He's doing a great job representing his love for Doris Day, a love that I share.

I agree with Ray - the CD is far more than a catalog of her hits. Scott chose arrangements that showcase his rhythmic skills and his joy as a performer. His take on Que Sera Sera, for example, gives that familiar ditty a fresh new coat of paint. And he was born to swing with the best of them on Shakin' The Blues Away. Maybe the most amazing thing is that he projects an ardent fan's adoration without tipping the scale too far. I've said this before, but I hope this CD garners widespread critical and commercial traction from those who still do not understand how great and versatile Doris was as a vocalist.

There is a great Free Fall Theatre here in St Petersburg, Flroida that would showcase Scott and his music perfectly. This CD has to reach people to enjoy what many of us are. Hope he has bookings to reach out and share this wealth of talent.

I haven;t seen it but Closer magazine has a story about Jackie Joseph who is Doris's dear friend and co-star as we all know. Closer always does upbeat stories really bringing us closer to the stars we love. Doris is of course mentioned in the article.

Thank you, Puck - will get back to using some of yours soon.

And thank you, Scott but it's not just me, you've got a lot of supporters on here as you can see from the posts - and particularly Michael Hadley who fed back glowing reports about you from Doris' recent birthday celebrations in Carmel. But I'm sure you know that anyway and that your warm words extend to all your admirers on here as you're that kind of guy. :D

Lots of continued luck with your great tribute to Doris - keep us posted on its progress and any new ventures and shows.

Whip Crack Away! 8)

(PS. We'll be having a competition to win an inscribed copy of Scott's CD soon.)
