I love their expressions. Rock looks like a devoted pet - a hound dog? Doris has a look of disbelief and seems to be looking into the camera, so I think it was probably a publicity photo, rather than a scene from the film.

More shootings in the US - it's looking more like The Wild West from over here. What's going on?

Thanks Bryan for a really striking Doris banner. I believe this photo is from Caprice. She looked so glamorous in that film.

My condolences to our American neighbours for the series of tragedies that have happened in the last month and years. It is heart wrenching to see these events happen over and over again. There is a need for the entire nation's wisdom and support to stop these events. I don't know of any other western country that has experienced so much continual violence in the recent past. It truly is an American Tragedy.

Yes, it's one heartbreak after another - for mostly innocent members of the public.

It's so strange for us in the UK that anyone in the US can buy a gun - that seems to be asking for trouble! And our police are unarmed. But I appreciate it has a lot to do with American history and the Constitution, and until the last few decades ago it wasn't a big problem. But it is now.

Yes, that is our Doris in "Caprice" - pity she didn't run for Congress!

Ahhhhhhh yes!! Not many enjoy Caprice like I do. It shows Doris surviving in a mad world. This was her Murder She Wrote and a little Miss Fisher thrown in. Long before each series even aired. Her TV series in 1968 should have been Murder She Wrote and would have ensured a twelve year run at least. The way it turned out is alright too with Doris playing two roles on her series. A widowed Mother and a liberated single Lady. Doris IS that single lady. Taking what life threw at her and turning lemons into lemonade.
