Amazing Banner, and poster, love the colors and creation, great find.
Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Agree with Puck. Tremendous visual impact with the saturated colors and expressive sketches.

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
This is an amazing picture Bryan! I love the vibrant colors and the modern day look to this banner! And of course what makes it so awesome is how happy Doris and Rock look with each other. I hope Doris knows how happy she and Rock have made their fans for many, many years. Im so glad ive had the oppotunity to experience the joy of Doris's music, movies, tv shows and the many books written about the most wonderful entertainer ever! This banner is an impressive work of art! Thank you, Bryan!

Fabulous banner and poster - the artist (while not capturing DD's hair properly from behind] certainly captures her magnificent derriere!
Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Thanks all - they were a great team, weren't they? I just wish they'd made a couple more films together.
I think, with Rock any of the following films would have been better:
Do Not Disturb (1965)
Caprice (1967)
Where Were You When the Lights Went Out? (1968)
What do you think?

Bryan,
Doris and Rock's chemistry would have elevated Do Not Disturb and Caprice into superior comedy films. They would have been terrific.
Where Were You When The Lights Went Out was an inferior script and not worthy of Doris and Rock's talents.
The Ballad of Josie would have been an interesting film for them.
I would have liked to see Doris and Rock make a dramatic film together to illustrate their true versatility. I am wondering about The Days of Wine and Roses as the vehicle for them. It is a superior work that could have been great for their careers'.

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Thanks for those thoughts, Johnny, Agree about 'Lights' but I was thinking they could improve the story.
I think Rock was more equal to her in the 'looks department' - one of the few. David Niven, Rod Taylor, etc, were very good leading men but didn't have the believability of her and Rock in the romance department - plus those films were about their relationship and not a plot where they were both playing characters.
This is from Puck, Doris on Pillow Talk:

I also really like this one but can't get it to work as a banner - from my perspective anyway:

Bryan,
I love this Doris Day, Pillow Talk forum banner more each time I come on the site. The colours are incredibly beautiful and capture the spirit of the film. It is amongst my top ten all-time favourites.
It prompted the questions:
Is there a photo gallery of the Doris Day Forum banners?
What was the first Doris Day Forum banner?
Puck's sketches are really wonderful!
Thank you Bryan for making this forum so warm and welcoming and for all your hard work. The banners really brighten my day.

This is a beautiful Doris Day banner by Puck. it looks like an image from Love Me or Leave Me. The colours are dramatic.

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Thanks Johnny. Here's a fuller version, again from Puck:

I can't remember the first banner - it was back in year 2000 - but they were all small as we didn't have high-speed broadband then.
Here are a few early examples:
(looks familiar?

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Bryan, this current banner reminds me of a similar photo of Doris applying her own lipstick during the filming of Julie. Both very cute.
Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Thank you Bryan.
All the banners are so interesting and trigger the imagination. Many, like the last Pillow Talk banner, leave a lasting impression. I mistakenly was under the impression the forum started in 2005.
Thanks for the samples of earlier banners. I appreciate it.

Thanks all. And Johnny, re: " I was under the impression the forum started in 2005".
I started it with another another hosting company in 2000 and when I moved it to this current host, the other company wouldn't cooperate, resulting in years 2000-2005 being lost.
I remember Lauren being very upset and me saying, 'Don't worry, we'll soon build it up again'.
Judy, I know the photo you mean - but she has a different look here doesn't she? ' Julie' was freckles in black and white, 'Pillow Talk' was glamour in technicolour!

I don't want to distract from Puck's great image but, Johnny, you set me thinking about the original website/forum. There's a place called Way Back that tries to keep copies of every website - unfortunatly they only seem to keep some page and not all images. This is the site in 2003:
https://web.archive.org/web/20030405183 ... index.html
Watch out, it's got music playing!
Below an old forum, unfortunately the front page seems to be there but it will give you an idea:
https://web.archive.org/web/20050924073 ... /index.php
Tybear, after the recent loss of your dog, you can see how I dealt with mine at the time when my cat Korky died! (dedicating the website to him and doing a 4-paged spread!) I remember I had a compulsion to keep a continuously-lit lantern on his grave in the garden for a month, which I used to check from the bedroom window - so I had it bad.

Click on the Korky photo link on the page or go here - My Cat is Cool:
https://web.archive.org/web/20031206002 ... index.html
You can right-click links/open in new tab and this page will remain open.

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
I love all of the banners posted on this page. They are awesome! Thank you so much Bryan snd Puck.
Thank you Bryan for sharing the photo of your beautiful cat Korky. Losing a pet is extremely difficult. I still have a hard time and get emotional very often. I know it will get easier with time. Thanks so much for all you do even providing emotional support to all the members. I know Doris would approve.

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Tybear, it took me months to recover fully after the passing of each of my 4-leggers, too . . . but I like to look at their pictures on my wall and am thankful every day that those sweet animals were part of the family. The memories of our furry friends are so special, aren't they? Bryan, I love the photos of Korky -- he was a handsome fellow. Meow!

What a lovely photo tribute to Korky!
I agree with Musiclover - the four-leggers are part of the family and I feel the same way about our dogs. Bryan, I also share your hope that we will meet them again in another place - it's comforting to consider that we might be reunited with them again. Thanks for sharing that.

Re: Doris Day Forum Banners 2016
Thank you so much Musiclover for your thoughtful and encouraging words. And yes Bryan i did read the story about your beautiful baby Korky. Thank you so much for sharing. Talking about our pets helps keep their memories alive. I know it would warm Doris's heart to read our stories that express love for our little fur babies. Doris's committment to animal advocacy is another reason i love Doris so much! So happy to be a member of this beautiful forum!

Thanks Puck - and all!
Yes I guess, as fans of Doris, we must be inclined to be animal lovers. You wouldn't be attracted to her if you were an uncaring person, I don't think - and it's natural to care for animals anyway so I'm glad we do.
A poster from 'Love Me or Leave Me' caught my eye and I was just about to go with it when I thought, 'hang on, it's still summer' - and a beautiful day outside - so this came to mind:
