Story behind the story: I wonder if something like this ever happened?

According to David Kaufman's book on Doris Day, Martin Melcher attempted to get the rights to "You My Love", the new song submitted by Frank Sinatra for the picture. Jack Warner has to be called in to mediate. Sam Weiss, a music publisher witnessed the exchange when Sinatra threatened to leave the picture "if that creep Melcher is anywhere on the Warner lot. I've heard too many rotten things about him nd I don't want him around".

Mitch Miller too, remembered the fight between Melcher and Sinatra -and suggested that Melcher was highly "overmatched".

Sinatra thought," Someone To Watch Over Me", would be a better title for Young At Heart. It was noted that this would have put Sinatra's character at the center of the film and he would have preferred this instead of being part of a larger ensemble. It was Sinatra that wanted Young At Heart to end on an optimistic note. He did not want his character to die which was the case in the original 1938 film, Four Daughters.

Young At Heart premiered at Fort Worth on Christmas Eve 1954 with the general release in January 1955.

The blue in Doris' dress makes the blue in her eyes pop. The earnestness in Doros' expression & Frank's bowed head tells so much about the Young At Heart story. It is a wonderful banner.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and feelings about 'Young at Heart'. What a great film with those two legends of film and recording showing how to do it with class and maturity - and, as Michael said, it's impossible to imagine a film like that being made today.

Thank you all and especially Bryan, and such shirt are still to buy, and this picture were made, when she started the tv show, short after her husband dies ? Am I correct, or wrong, well she looks amazing, while she have to deal the worries, her grief about her lost of Marty at that time, to start all over again, alone. I do respect her for being her self, love her because she is just a normal and humain, amazing person, and that is what makes us love her so must.
