Thanks. I was very happy when I did it. Today, I feel a bit sad - that time is gone and will never be back.

It's hard to believe she made Calamity Jane more than half a century ago - so much has happened and we live in a different world now. Not always a better one.

I hope Bryan you can take comfort in Doris' great legacy and gifts to all of us with her brilliant work in films, songs and dance.

Our lives are so much richer and happier because of Doris' talents that she has shared with our world.

I think of this expression, "A man's (person's) character is their fate". Doris' optimism, kindness, and compassion for animals is a great testament to her inspirational character.

I do take comfort from Doris and her work - just a bit sad momentarily at its passing. But, as you say, she's left behind a great legacy of joy, fun - and sometimes things that go very deep.

I enjoy my hour or so a day spent coming on here and thinking about her, talking about her, posting images, seeing what people are up to. It's like having virtual friends. I'm sure we all have friends who have little interest in her that you wouldn't even bother mentioning her to as you know you'd just get a big yawn - or a look of pity!

But, hey, they don't know what they are missing!

I'm watching it live on TV over here (London). Not sure if I can last until the results are in (11.30pm now) but will know if you've elected your first woman President by morning. Either way, you're going to have a divided country, as we have had since the Brexit vote.

But we have to try and remain optimistic, I guess.

Well, what a shock to wake up to find Donald Trump had won the vote to be the next President. I resisted any temptation to comment throughout the contest so I won't start now.
