Love the 1953 photo in the pool. Doris looked exactly the same in photos taken 10 years later. It's really amazing that she changed so little during that period.

Bryan, in the photo of Doris with James Garner, she is wearing make-up while in the pool she is without. I tend to think film make -up can make one look older.

Yes, she did look more mature on the movie screen a decade later. I was thinking about candid images rather than posed photos with make-up and coiffed hair. One was taken at Dodger stadium in 1963. Am not able to post it, but maybe somebody could find it.

She looks younger without makeup there - looks like they overdid the makeup in some of her 1960s films.
For example, she looked better in her final film, With Six You Get Eggroll, with less makeup than in Caprice, with tons of makeup and what looked like a wig. ?

I love the photo of Doris at the Dodgers' game.

Doris' luminous smile radiates a younger natural look. Looking at recent smiling photos of Doris in her nineties , she looks younger than her age.

Audrey Hepburn and Mary Tyler Moore had smiles that lit up a room like Doris does.

Bryan, I am loving these poolside photos that are a celebration of our 2018 summer. Sorry to hear about the unusual unbearable heat wave in England but hopefully it will pass soon.

Doris looks so incredibly happy and relaxed, especially when she is with her dogs. The photos are refreshing.

Thank you, Johnny. Seeing Doris in a pool or in the sun somehow seems to cool me down.

Don't get me wrong. it's great to have a long hot summer. I hope it lasts. it's just adjusting to it as we've often had rain and cold weather at this time of year. (That's why it's so green normally)

On the downside. we have a bit of a scorched earth situation - crops are failing and farm animals are having to be fed their winter supplies. which is very expensive for farmers, so food costs will rise.

But make hay while the sun shines... if that's possible!

It isn't the same bikini.
The first one is worn in 1958, the second one is from 1955 in Cannes.
