Bryan, This Love Me Or Leave Me banner is exceptionally beautiful and one of my favorites. The painting captures the intensity amongst the three characters. The detail is fascinating. Look at how Cagney is tilting at an angle that is consistent with his character's limp. Doris is dressed in revealing and riveting Scarlett . Cagney is dressed in black and white, much like how his character sees situations.
I wonder who the artist is that created this marvelous painting.

Turn Up the Heat is snappy and energetic just like Doris and Jimmy in Love Me Or Leave Me. Thanks so much Bryan.

Great banner with Doris and Cary. That Touch of Mink is really a Cinderella story.

So unusual to see Doris in a fur wrap. Interesting that it is white which is a standout colour for her.

Thank you Bryan.

I wonder what That Touch of Mink would have been like if it had been made in 1958? :)

Thanks, Michael, I was trying to give it a postcard feel.

Howard contacted the artist and commissioned him to do a drawing of Doris.

Love the new banner and the drawing of DD - checked out his website and loved ALL the prints he has available - however they are $35 or $25 - wonder why the DD one is $135??? I sent him a message to inquire. Henry is definitely a great artist - loved the variety of prints he is selling.

Have a great weekend!!!!

The bright green in this Doris banner makes me think of the beautiful new spring leaves that burst open in April.

Thanks to you Bryan and Howard for this exceptionally cheerful banner.

Just discovered Doris on YouTube singing "Sentimental Journey" on her '71 tv special. What makes it special is that originally on the Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff special she was taped singing from a distance. Somehow this version on YouTube brings her much closer to the screen. Check it out:

Bryan,

Recently when trying to post Doris photos on the forum, I am unable.

The response is: "Sorry the board attachment quota has been reached". I deleted a lot of my photos. Any suggestions?
Thank you

Howard,

It’s not just the distance from the camera. This track is missing the backup vocalists. On the original broadcast, they sang the line “that takes me back ...” while she took a breath. There’s also audience applause when she first starts, which was not on the broadcast version. I had forgotten how much I liked this arrangement with the prominent guitar. It has a Peggy Lee vibe to it and Doris is really in the groove. Thanks for posting this.

Michael
