A great find, Howard. Thank you! It shows that Doris is second to no one in diction and lyric interpretation.

Johnny, that photo upload warning was probably to do with the fact that it was the last few days in the month. It all starts again on the 1st of each month so you should be okay again now. Let me know if you're still having a problem.

Thanks Bryan, I still am not having any luck posting photos. I have never encountered this type of problem before.

I love this Doris banner. It is a great testimonial from Sarah Vaughn, another legendary sensuous vocalist.

I have always loved the photos of her in the recording studio. They provide clues as to what it might have been like to be there in person. I wish Doris had provided liner notes on her albums with insights about why she chose each song or what particular songs meant to her as an interpreter.

Great banner choice, Bryan. Thank you.

Yes, that would have been interesting, Michael!

Johnny, email me personally next week and we'll try and sort it out. (I'm having a weekend on the coast.)

Mine too, Jas, and what a great tribute to Doris that Sarah Vaughan (March 27, 1924 – April 3, 1990) was a fan.

I love her too! Saw her back in the late 70's at the Hollywood Bowl, and she was magnificent - unforgettable!

Thanks, Ania. :)

Sad to read of John Gavin dying at 86 from leukemia. I found a banner I'd made of him and Doris:

Thanks for posting this banner, Bryan. About 35 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting John Gavin very briefly and found him to be gracious, funny, and down to earth -- some of the same qualities DD has.

Thank you Bryan for a joyous Doris Day banner in paying tribute to John Gavin.

Has anyone read any comments made by Doris on working with John Gavin?

Lucky you, Judy - how did you manage to meet him? I liked his self-depreciation in interviews he gave. :)

Hi Michael, It's from an Italian film poster I came across on eBay:

Yes, the colours are great, aren't they?

Michael - just checked out the e-bay page, and the artist's name is Silvano "Nano" Campeggi. The poster really is stunning, isn't it?

Bryan, John Gavin and I literally bumped into each other at a small but crowded "meet and greet" event just after he'd become U.S. ambassador to Mexico. The county I lived in had (and still has) a substantial Mexican population, and he was there to answer questions and to let local people know that he was ready and available to help with their problems or concerns.

Howard, thanks for finding out which artist did this banner. His biography on Wikipedia is very interesting.
