Babe Williams and Doris Day were a match made in heaven. Thanks for keeping things so interesting, Bryan.

Thanks, Michael & Howard.

There's something about Doris that is timeless - but you'd need to have known her a while to appreciate that! I doubt if many of today's under 25s have seen any of her films - or listened to her albums in the way that we have.

Personally speaking, as I'm sure is true for most of us, she's been part of my history and I always find her inspiring. When she goes, a big part of all of us will go - but she'll carry on as part of cinema and recording history.

The photo of Doris and John Raitt added to the banner radiates joy and makes the banner even more beautiful.

You are absolutely right Bryan about Doris being timeless. Anyone hearing Doris sing Love Me or Leave Me, Secret Love or It's Magic would acknowledge the beauty in her voice and wonder about her. Doris' talent is timeless. Her connection with her audience through music and film is enduring.

For anyone who loves films, Doris is an icon of the 1950's and 1960's and her films are essential viewing. I think her work will eventually be fully appreciated by future film aficionados and critics alike.

Doris' legacy in film, music and dance is disarming honesty and genuine emotion. We are all beneficiaries' of her talent, charisma and joy she brought to her work.

I imagine these were taken at Doris' home in 1960 - does anyone know where that was? Beverly Hills?

Hi Bryan,

These photo's are taken in 1961, I think at her home in Beverly Hills. Always loved her look there. Very sophisticated I think! Glamour with not to much frills(?)
There are some photo's with Marty too. They've been here on the forum before. I believe it was Ania, who placed them here. Maybe she has some more information. Or one of the other members of course.

Thanks for making this place possible!

Thanks, Peter.

I checked - the info about the ones above says 1960, although the ones below say, "Doris Day at her Beverly Hills home with husband, Martin Melcher, 1961 - Bob Willoughby", maybe not at the same time as her hair is different in the first image.

The photos were taken at her Beverly Hill home at 713 N. Crescent Drive. I'm thinking the dates were 1960 and 1961 based on the different hairstyles. Here is a photo of the house that we took last November when we were in LA. It's in the BH Flats, which is only a few blocks from downtown BH and a convenient bike ride to Nate N'Al's Deli. I wish the current owner would repaint it white. The gray is drab to say the least.

Thanks for the AWESOME photos of Doris - never saw these before...she is pure beauty inside and out...I agree with you about her home at 713 Crescent Drive - the current owner has it looking like a jail - when Diane and I were in BH a few years ago we walked from Nate 'N Als by her home with Ryan Melcher on our way to the Beverly Hills Hotel - I WAS SHOCKED at the coldness I saw - no pretty colors, no flowers, just dark and drab - so unlike Doris. I almost wish I had not seen it as I was used to the colorful, joyful home where I lived with Doris for nearly 2 years. As Terry said in one documentary - when Doris moves on, she moves on...thank God she has not seen what her former beautiful home looks like now. But thanks again for all this beautiful photos of Doris...no one comes close to her these days. God bless Doris Day!

The Bob Willoughby photos are exceptionally radiant like a fresh spring sunny day. Doris' simple, classic elegance shines trough the lens.

The photos of Doris wearing classic white, with an understated gold bracelet, arms resting in a stately composed manner and a direct honest gaze against a background hue of spring green with soft, yellow undertones captures her natural honesty and elegant spirit we all love.

Bryan, it is a stunning Doris banner that heralds spring 2018
