Diane Keaton on Doris Day

Unread post by howard » 18 Sep 2018, 11:16

A 2014 interview on a web site called "Mind Food:"

Always up for a challenge, Keaton sings in her latest starring vehicle, as a widowed lounge singer.

“It wasn’t my idea to sing at all,” She roars with laughter. “I always wanted to be a singer but I just wasn’t good enough. I wanted to be Doris Day.” She breaks into a rendition of Que Sera Sera.
“And Doris Day is still alive, isn’t that fabulous? Those women hang in.”

I wonder if they ever met.
Like Irene Dunne done.

I recall seeing Diane Keaton's name among the executive board members on one of Doris' animal organizations: DDAF or DDAL. Not sure which one it was. I don't know if they ever met but I bet they chatted on at the phone or corresponded at some point.

Nice story! Thank you, hg.

I think I read somewhere that Diane Keating also said she wanted to look like Doris Day - so many did.
