Re: Forum Banners 2019
Great banners from Bryan & Puck. I like the 'Goodnight, Doris." and 'Goodnight, Rock." on the banner, it illustrates the gentle friendship between them. Rock had many other leading ladies but apart from Liz Taylor, I don't think he bonded with any as much as he did with Doris.
Re: Forum Banners 2019
I agree. Rock got along well with all of his female co-stars but he shared a special bond with Doris and Elizabeth. He was also good friends with Carol Burnett who adored him I don't recall any of his leading ladies having a bad word to say about him.

Thanks again. Peter posted this image of Doris in the 1950s. Ain't she sweet?

Another beautiful banner.

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Striking use of color with the BW image of Doris. I love the font choice too.
Well done, again, maestro Bryan.

You could try downloading it and see if it works, it doesn't say it's just for PCs.

LOVE this banner.
Re: Forum Banners 2019
So do I!
It really has a fifties vibe I can see Doris putting down the convertible top and going on a road trip in that scarf. Another winner from Puck!
Thank you,
Michael

Thanks Puck for the beautiful Doris banner. My first thought was Doris is on our Canadian flag . It makes me think there needs to be a Doris Day flag. She was loved around the world; having been the number one box office star in the world.
Doris looks so sophisticated.
Thanks Bryan for the originals. I prefer Doris in blue since it compliments her eyes.

Yes, I see what you mean about the Canadian flag, Johnny! it wasn't intentional but it looks very similar!

I prefer the blue one too!

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Thanks so much Bryan!
You really put a smile on my face.
I would vote to put Doris on every flag in the world.
Doris symbolizes kindness. Our world really needs more kindness.
I just thought of the line from the WHAM song:
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go:
"You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day"
Love this line. It is a great song to listen to when cooking in the kitchen.
Just whimsical thoughts.
Have a great weekend!

Wow, you create again a amazing banner, do love the Canadian flag, absolute a wow factor, thank you Bryan, she looks so happy, and that smile, she still brings us sunshine with that smile, I feel still sad that she is gone, but must never forget she gave us so much joy, so much to laugh about, and her friendship with her fans was so special.
She was special, a great actress and singer, but most of all she was a wonderful, amazing woman. She will life for ever in our hearts. She will never be forgotten.

Thank you Bryan and Puck for this uplifting beautiful Doris banner.
Thank you Puck for your words of wisdom on Doris. Her spirit remains with us all. Doris was a gift to the world that made many lives much richer and happier. Thankfully her music and films are here for us all to appreciate.

And thank you Puck for such a lovely sweet banner - luckily I've still got a big supply of all the great images you've sent me.

Thanks, Mary Anne!
Here's another - I hadn't seen this pic before:

Day’s film debut, Romance on the High Seas, alongside Jack Carson, released in 1948:

Doris Day: a life in pictures. Peter Bradshaw on Doris Day: the wholesome face of postwar American optimism.

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Doris looks so cool there
although she referred to the make-up department as 'embalmers' as they dyed her hair and tried to make her look like Ginger Rogers or someone.

Re: Forum Banners 2019
Interesting choice of BW considering how colorful this musical was on screen. But it works...
Georgia Garrett was Doris at her sassiest. She ran with it, stole the film, and the rest is cinematic history.
Thank you Bryan.
