I think you're right, Johnny! She looks as fresh as a daisy there, doesn't she?

Thanks Mary Anne. It's a big pleasure to keep Doris' memory alive. I think it does us all good during these strange and awful times. How are things in Indiana? And with you?

Thanks Puck and Bryan for this beautiful Doris banner.
I am struck by Doris' eyes in this photo looking a pale green. This photo looks like it may have been taken around the time she was making the film Julie.

The lyrics to this Calamity Jane-era recording by Doris came to mind ... and I was surprised to actually not being able to find them anywhere on the Internet!
THIS TOO SHALL PASS AWAY
(Ervin Drake; Irvin Graham; Jimmy Shirl)
Recorded by Doris Day on July 17, 1953
The stormy clouds that hide the sun
this too shall pass away
The shadows falling, one by one
this too shall pass away
The lonely bells that chime
for those who know the pain of parting
this too shall pass in time
and he'll be home
The empty dream that fill the night
this too shall pass away
Beyond the darkness there's a light
that brings the hope of day
Your heart can borrow
on that tomorrow
So when your world is bleak and cold
be brave, be patient and behold
this too shall pass away

Thank you so much for bringing the song This Too Shall Pass
Away to my attention. After listening to Doris sing this song, the tenderness in her voice lingers. It is a song that has new importance during this surreal time.🕊

Simon,
Thank you for posting those timely lyrics. That was very thoughtful of you.
As Johnny mentioned, it certainly is a surreal time with no apparent end in sight.Thank goodness we have Doris's movies, music and television work online whenever we need a Doris Day booster shot.

Thank you Ania and Johnny.
Wishing you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Bryan will always be with us, I’m sure he keeping a eye on us, he did care about us, more than we knew.
He was a wonderful, sweet person. It would be different without him.
Do miss him, he was my inspiration.
Merry Christmas too you all.

I hope everyone is healthy and safe this holiday season.
Visiting the forum has become bittersweet for me. The number of active posters has become virtually nil since Bryan passed and I feel his absence each time I check-in. It's nice to read the few new posts that appear but the experience is not the same as before. I remain hopeful that Jacques will be able to obtain legal rights to migrate Doris Day.net and the forum to the British Library at some point in the near future. I'll keep checking with him from time to time and let you know.
Today, I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Bryan for creating the forum and giving the members a safe and respectful place to share their love of Doris Day. His legacy will never be forgotten and my gratitude to him will never end.
Merry Christmas!
Michael

New year is the time to bid farewell to the old Year
And welcome the coming year.
It is the time to forget and get past memories
That are no longer useful or worth pondering upon.
Let’s forget and forgive.
Happy New Year.
Greetings from Poland! Ania
