Re: The Doris Day Forum
I, too, like Bryan's suggestion of starting a general section similar to a blog. As Michael notes, it would really be great if we could keep the photos in a separate section. Having just those 2 sections should simplify things, I think.

Re: The Doris Day Forum
The suggestions for limiting the Forum topics is a good idea. Any suggestion for removing workload for Bryan is very positive. But let's not overdo it. My favorite aspect of Miss Day's career has been her music. That is the primary reason I shared my Doris Day Definitive Discography. The discography continues to evolve as more of Doris Day music is found and shared. The latest example is the 1952 Day/Cavanaugh recording soon to be released. Peter and Musiclover have also contributed greatly in educating us about the Doris Day music legacy, and I believe this should continue. Happy Days, Texas Gonzalo

Love the new banner.

Re: The Doris Day Forum
Texas makes an excellent point about the Music section. I suspect it's the most comprehensive catalog of her recordings anywhere on the Internet and there could be other undiscovered treasures out there somewhere. It would be shame to to shut that section down.

Jill, I'm removing your reply to the above post as a result of a complaint from Mary Anne and because of the forum rule "Treat others as you would like to be treated". However, I will record that your objection was that the intention was to promote MA's Doris Day blog.doris-day-fan wrote: ↑10 Aug 2019, 20:17I have recently connected with DORIS DAY FAN CLUB on Facebook run by an avid admirer of Doris, Cindy Nevin. I am doing a blog on it and will let you all know when it goes 'live'. Currently, there are over 14,000 members from all over the world. It is wonderful that people around the world still have such great love for our Doris and want to connect with others who love Doris. Some of you may even be on this blog already - it is a closed group, but feel free to contact Cindy thru Facebook to join - it is always nice to hear from others who are admirers of our Doris.
Re: The Doris Day Forum
I'm not planning to close down topics in use but will probably lock some over time. Please don't start new ones (Howard & Johnny!.

Thanks Bryan. I will not introduce any new topics.
Will the Films of Doris Day topic stay open for a while?

Re: The Doris Day Forum
Yes, I'm not planning to close any essential or popular topics, Johnny. I might close or delete some out-of-date topics, such as old ones about TCM programs, or ones that haven't had a reply or ones that don't add anything to the forum.

Hey Bryan,
Was this directed at me? I didn't post any of it. Don't know who JMoore is?
Thanks,

Sorry, I thought that the J stood for Jill. It actually stands for Janet (Moore) but didn't think it was you anyway.

I know it's late there and appreciate your response.
Have a good rest of your evening.

Re: The Doris Day Forum
I’m sorry but she needs to stop spreading lies about Doris. By the way Doris wanted nothing to do with her. Let’s let the wonderful lady Rest In Peace. Those of you who are writing blogs, books, speaking to tabloids, etc. please stop. You are doing more harm than good.
Re: The Doris Day Forum
Janet, this puts me in a difficult position. I don't want to act as a censor or provide a platform for negativity as I don't think that honors Doris' memory. I'm not aware of any lies that Mary Anne has told, although I know her book and subsequent writings haven't met with universal credit amongst fans of Doris. Do you want to make your arguments more specific and allow Mary Anne to reply?
Mary Anne, what do you think? This issue has been going on for a long time and I always find myself having to defend you on the basis of 'forum rules' but maybe it's time for you to defend yourself?

Brian
I appreciate your diplomacy in this situation - I remember when certain books were written - it was getting very nasty here and other places - I like to say, if it ain't positive- don't comment.

Yes, I agree, Jas, it can tend to drag everyone down. I'll give people a short while to respond then make a decision as to whether to delete this or not. I'd be interested to know if people think we should discuss this or the best way to resolve it.

Re: The Doris Day Forum
Mary Anne has sent me this:
Bryan, I don’t know who this person is. I have never lied about Doris in my book or in my blogs or presentations. I would never do that and did nothing to hurt Doris. Some fans make up stuff and are jealous that I followed my dream. Thank you for all you do to keep Doris close to us. My reason for my latest blog was to show how interest in Doris grew following her passing. I was not out to sell books or promote it. My publisher asks me to write blogs that would be of interest to fans and admirers. She was very interested in this blog in particular.
I will keep on doing what I feel is right. No one is going to shut me up or scare me.
