This is all very bittersweet. I know she would be happy that her foundation will raise so much money. I hope you all are able to have a treasure of our dear lady.

I don't like the idea of ALL of her possessions being sold off - including her awards. Couldn't they go to a museum in Cincinnati or somewhere? What about some going to family or relatives?

I was hoping perhaps someone (Dennis Levett?) at the Cypress Inn would make acommodations in the hotel for a DD museum. And all that good stuff that is going up for auction, plus maybe some donations from us fans, could be a real boon to the tourism business in Carmel. Not that they need it, but it might even become more popular than it already is.

It is a very emotive subject - I try to remember this is Doris' wishes and proceeds to the animals - all she really cared about in the end.

I know her foundation will make a great deal of money to help the beautiful animals all around the country which is what she wanted most.
