Re: The Definitive Doris Day Discography
Dear Mikey,
Thank you for sharing such a rare find. The year 1944 for the recording sounds right. The recording would have been made between mid 1944 when Doris Day returned for her second engagement with Les Brown Orchestra and perhaps 20 November 1944 when she recorded "Sentimental Journey."

I agree. You really should publish your findings in a buyable bound book. It is easy to do and can be free if you like...look into www.createspace.com
The published book would be available for sale on amazon.com
I, for one, would buy it.

Does anyone know if the Behr family collection of Doris's complete collection is available for purchase?

Tybear, at least 3 separate Bear Family CD collections (1947-1959) are available through Amazon . . . and, as with all other purchases on that website, you can use smile.Amazon.com to designate that a portion of the purchase price be donated to the DD Animal Foundation.

If that doesn't work for you, Tybear. The collections are for sale on the Bear Family web site: I don't, however, see the fourth in the series, "Move Over Darling" included. Here's the link:

Re: The Definitive Doris Day Discography
I am sure I have seen Doris Day singing Midnight Lover on You Tube with a background of a series of black and white photos of her and Louis Jordan in Julie.
Has anyone heard Doris singing Midnight Lover?

The song title is "MOONLIGHT Lover." Do a search for it on YouTube. It's there !

Thank you so much Howard! Yes Moonlight! Moonlight! Moonlight Lover!
It is an incredibly beautiful song.
I have to stop thinking about Midnight Lace.

Good God, what a tremendous amount of work! Thanks very much for this. Two things immediately came to mind: the sheer volume of tunes DD assigned to wax and how in the hell anybody's pipes can withstand that kind of use over the years!
Really wonderful, thanks again. I've been pouring over it for a a couple of days

Nancy, I don't believe they are -- but someone else (maybe Texas or Peter?) could likely confirm that.

Re: The Definitive Doris Day Discography
Hi Nancy and Musiclover,
For all I know they are not on tape/disc yet.
1941 Les Brown, Doris Day & Jimmie Palmer - Once Over, Lightly
1941 Les Brown & Doris Day - Lost Horizon
1941 Les Brown & Doris Day - Is It Love Or is It Conscription
Still looking for a complete one of: Is It Love Or Is It Conscription
Maybe making an MP3 of these video's can be a tip.
Enjoy,
P

Re: The Definitive Doris Day Discography
Nancy56, it's great to hear about your music collection. As you may know that is my favorite collecting aspect of Miss Day's many talents. Try another link on the internet and you can see the complete soundie for "My Lost Horizon". Use the following link: izlesene.com My Lost Horizon. The first box on You Tube does not include a picture, but shows the song title. The film runs for 2:55 minutes. Enjoy and, Happy Days, Texas Gonzalo
